PB London: Meet the Makeup Judges

We are on a countdown now until the Professional Beauty London, makeup competition this coming weekend (3rd-4th March) and we have news about our judging panel to share.  We’ve already given you the lowdown on the bodypainting judges, so this time we are featuring the rest of the panel who will be working across the Bridal, Character, Creative, Catwalk and Insta Makeup Categories. From a variety of backgrounds and with a enormous range of specialities, here they are:

With A-list clients including Emma Thompson, Poppy Delevingne and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Tania Grier is one of the industry’s most in-demand make-up artists. A brand consultant, she is also a beauty journalist and Online Beauty Editor for Phoenix Magazine.


A freelance bridal hair stylist and makeup specialist and bridal make up coach with over 13 years’ experience, Zoe Cornwell is based in London, specialising in natural and stripped back creations. As well as an impressive client list, Zoe now also runs her own Hair + Makeup membership platform The VIBE Education which provides artists to clients all over the UK.

Multi-award winning, Celebrity Makeup Artist/Male Groomer, Industry Expert, Educator and Personality Joy Adenuga has over a decade of experience under her tool belt and an unparalleled reputation as a beauty heavyweight. With a celebrity client rooster – India Amarteifio, Golda Rosheuvel, Leigh-Ann Pinnock, Corinna Brown, Wunmi Mosaku and many more. Joy works regularly on Celebrity Press Junkets with Netflix, The Walt Disney Company, Amazon, Paramount, Sony Music and more.

She has hosted teaching events with Sephora, Haus Labs, Tom Ford, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox cosmetics (to name a few) to partnerships with Armani Beauty, Hauslabs, No7 and more. Joy has worked on Global Advertising Campaigns for Google, Kelloggs, Unilever, BBC, Cantu Beauty and more. She has sat as a Jury at the BAFTAS for Makeup & Hair Design. A Judge at both The ASOS Beauty Awards, Who What Wear and The Wedding Industry Awards. Joy’s skill set has no limits and is recognised on an International scale.


Louis Byrne is a celebrity hairstylist, activist and creator of empowerment movement “I Can I Am and I Will”.  He has worked on many editorial shoots for Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Dazed, ID and L’Officiel and campaigns for Net-a-Porter and Nike. Louis is also personal hair stylist for Emma Willis, Vicky McClure plus many more actors, models and musicians.

Throughout his extensive career Louis has won multiple awards for his work. Most wanted Finalist, BHA Men’s Hairdresser of the year, BHA London Finalist, BHA Newcomer Finalist. More recently, his passion for people’s wellbeing and creating beautiful imagery has blended with his empowerment movement, I Can, I Am and I Will (ICIAIW). The movement empowers people to own their identity and completely embrace who and what they are in a positive way.

Tanya Noor trained at London college of fashion and has been a make-up artist for around 30 years. She has worked in all areas of the industry including: TV, Film, Theatre and Fashion as well as teaching. She was head of the make-up department at Phantom of the Opera (the brilliant original London production) for over 20 years and was also part of the main make up team for the Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies for London 2012. She has worked on many other live events including: Fashion Rocks, The Brits, The Royal Variety Performance, Comic Relief and the Olivier Awards and Most recently for TV & film on The Crown, The Great, Mission Impossible and James Bond. Tanya is deputy course leader at London College of Fashion on the BA Hons Degree course in hair make up and prosthetics for performance. She also has taught on HND and degree specialist make up courses at numerous colleges/universities as well as private workshops. She also has her own business Get Set Go Bags ltd, designing and selling industry standard HMUA on set and kit bags.


Glow Up alumnus James Mac is an internationally acclaimed freelance beauty-glamour makeup/drag artist and runner up on BBC’s Glow Up series 2. James’ focus is on hyper creative looks, fashion, editorial and drag inspired makeup.


Professional Beauty Makeup Judges

Celebrity makeup artist and skincare expert, Armand Beasley celebrates 30 years within the cosmetic industry this year. An accomplished actor, his latest appearance was in The Reckoning, a four-part BBC1 drama that screened late last year. He started off his cosmetics career within retail before eventually becoming National MakeUp Artist for Givenchy. He then trained in most major cosmetic companies to create the Personal Beauty Studio for House of Fraser, where he gave impartial skincare, fragrance and makeup advice.

He then started appearing regularly on radio and TV as a beauty expert, including ITVs Lorraine, C4s How to Look Good Naked, RTEs The Afternoon Show, ITVs This Morning, BBC3s Magic Number and Fakeover on the Discovery Channel. He has worked at the Oscars, BAFTAs and created looks for many a-list celebrities ranging from Goldie Hawn to Nicole Scherzinger.

Armand is currently a regular monthly guest on Talk Radio Europe (Spain) and has also been on many other national and international radio shows including BBC Radio 2 The Big Show sharing his expertise whilst writing for various magazines about beauty and style. Armand has a regular monthly beauty and style column in The Lady Magazine. He also is Cheshire Life celebrity interviewer.  He regularly hosts inspiration seminars on stages around the world, from Professional Beauty London to health and wellness retreats in the UK and Spain. In May 2024, Armand will return to Mumbai to host MakeUp Week India.

Armand has also created Grooming Guidelines for British Airways and the Rocco Forte group.  In October 2019 Armand launched his first beauty product, Pro Body Glow, a 100% natural high shine nourishing multipurpose body balm that is growing in cult status. It has just been nominated for ‘Best Multipurpose Balm’. Armand is a Cruelty Free makeup artist, skincare expert and stylist who is passionate about making people look and feel like the best version of themselves.
