Just in time to get you a little more hyped about the Bodypainting competition at Professional Beauty London, we’re back with a bit more information on the fabulous judges.  PB London Bodypaint Judges

PB London Bodypaint Judges

The Bodypainting category is open to both professional and student painters, the theme is the classical elements of Earth, Wind, Fire and Water.  Entrants will need to create a design that takes this to another level.  Judges are looking for exceptional work, either brush and sponge or airbrush, combined with costume, headpiece and innovative use of props.  Spaces are limited, so make sure you book yours.

From a variety of backgrounds and with a staggering number of specialities, meet our judges:

After graduating from West Thames College in 2004 Carolyn Roper founded Getmadeup to provide make-up and bodypainting services to the entertainment, music and fashion industries.  Her unique style, attention to detail has firmly established her as one of the world’s leading bodypainters.  She has won major industry awards and is a double World Body Painting Champion.  Carolyn was also part of the makeup team for the X Factor from 2012-2015 and the MUA for the live Arena Tour from 2016-2018.  She was also the camouflage body artist for the Hollywood movie Dumb and Dumber To featuring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels.  Carolyn in based in London but has worked on many international assignments including New York, London, Chicago, Hong Kong, Cape Town, Mumbai and New Delhi.  She was delighted to work at Fashion Week in both Milan and Paris, and also took her paint brushes to Rome for a bodypainting shoot for Vogue Italia.

Emma Cammack has been working as a bodypainter for the past 30 years. Her work has been featured in editorial, advertising, television, magazines, as fine art, on packaging, as live body art installations and more. Emma was a judge on Skin Wars and Skin Wars Fresh Paint. Emma’s recent work explores empowerment, self-love and body positivity. She is a passionate advocate of the power of bodypaint to promote self-confidence. Her work on TV shows such as Naked Beach in the UK and No Body is Perfect for German TV explore this.

Cat Finlayson discovered face painting whilst teaching in zoos.  After starting her own face art business in 2000, she won UK Professional Face Painter of the Year and was 5th in the World, and then branched out into bodypainting, becoming one of the UK’s first full-time residential face painters.  Over the last few years she has also added Cricut Ambassador & Artisan to her impressive list of job titles, as she finds the machine frees her creativity and is involved in most aspects of her body art.  She placed 10th at the 2022 World Body Paint World Championships, in the Brush and Sponge Paint category, painting on model Izabela Kowalewska.
