e.l.f. Cosmetics have launched their first ever community-led brand campaign in the UK. To bring the e.l.f. acronym (eyes.lips.face.) to life in an irreverent, fun and cheeky way, e.l.f. turned to its community asking them “what does e.l.f. mean to you?” Their responses inspired the campaign. From “euphoric.luminous.fierce.” to “every.life.free.”, the campaign celebrates the individuality of every eye, lip and face.
From social channels to tube stations to digital screens to experiential pop ups, the UK will light up with e.l.f.’s first 30-second UK created advert, encouraging everyone to get involved and #expressyourelf. The 30-second spot will also make its television debut during the much-anticipated return of Big Brother on ITV2, when it returns in October. The campaign features the brand’s UK community, with a group of 20 people street cast while they were living their best e.l.f.s fearlessly. Adding a special beat, e.l.f. has teamed up with Caity Baser, one of the fastest emerging UK singer/songwriters and proudly features Caity’s latest singles ‘Disco Shoes’ in the campaign.

New from NARS is Unknown Beauty: François Nars, the definitive documentary on the legendary makeup artist and Nars founder.
“I’ve been asked so many times, what is beauty? It comes in so many forms. I’m still searching for it. Beauty is undefinable.” – François Nars
François Nars, the French-born makeup artist, photographer, founder and creative director of Nars Cosmetics, honed his craft backstage at the runways and shoots of the 1970s and ’80s Paris before creating iconic (and often iconoclastic) imagery in New York for magazines like Vogue and designers like Marc Jacobs and Versace, all the while helping to usher in the supermodel era.
In 1994, Nars launched NARS Cosmetics with a collection of 12 lipsticks at Barneys New York, an instant smash that soon grew to encompass a full range of cosmetics and skincare. What sets NARS apart is the way it captures the authentic vision of its creator — each iconic product, from Orgasm Blush to Copacabana Multiple and Dragon Girl Powermatte Lipstick, embodies its own world of emotion, memory, and cultural inspiration.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Lisa Immordino Vreeland, it includes licensed footage from the cinematic classics that inspired Nars’ vision and aesthetic, from the golden age of Old Hollywood to the Nouvelle Vague. Nars himself handpicked each clip from over 50 of his favourite movies, and the footage comprises 85 percent of the documentary.
Global premier 12th September 2023. Run time: 90 minutes. Available in the UK via download on the following platforms: Apple TV, Google Play, YouTube Movies and Vimeo on Demand.
