The Skin Health Alliance have launched the ‘We Stand For Skin’ campaign, a skin positivity campaign aiming to tackle skin dissatisfaction.   A recent study by the Skin Health Alliance revealed that 62% of young adults believe using social media makes them feel worse about their skin and their appearance. The pervasiveness of edited and filtered images, selective self-presentation and a lack of diversity can lead to feelings of inadequacy and low self-confidence.  74% say they feel pressure to look a certain way, while, 66% of young adults also stated that they have received hate or been bullied due to their appearance.

The We Stand For Skin campaign focuses on celebrating diverse skin types, tones, colours, textures and conditions, highlighting the beauty in our skin’s inherent uniqueness. Opatra Advanced Skincare Technologies is a London-based beauty brand selling highly innovative devices and beauty products with the aim of repairing and rejuvenating the skin. They recently held a two-day event to showcase some of the latest devices, many of which, including Opatra Light, use non-invasive LED Light Therapy. At the event, they showcased the Opatra Aqua Spectra HydroFacial which is a treatment that incorporates ultrasound, radio frequency and cryotherapy to cleanse the skin at a deeper level than a typical facial treatment would.

Opatra are releasing portable, hand-held devices in their Synergy Collection Set so that clients can focus on improving their skin, independent from attending treatments. The devices in this collection use LED light therapy, a message function and heat therapy to better the appearance of the skin. Also demonstrated at the event were Opatra Eye Pods, which are designed to effectively reduce puffiness beneath the eyes using EMS light therapy. Opatra were also showcasing their Genesis Body Sculptor System and the new Opatra Skin Analysis, which thoroughly scans the skin and highlights areas that need to be targeted for improvement.
