Now summer is with us, make sure your nails embrace the season and reflect the colours around us. Salon System nail expert Julie-Anne Larivière, has created this floral nail design using Gellux shades.
If you don’t have Gellux products to hand then you can substitute them for others. If you are using non-gel polish, remember to use a good base coat and to let each coat set fully before moving on to the next step.
Step One
Prepare the nails by pushing back cuticles, trimming excess, shaping the free edge, and buffing the nail plate with a white block. Dust well and wipe thoroughly with Salon System Nail + File Cleansing Spray (£8.30 +vat). Apply Gellux Fast Bond (£5.85 +vat), let dry for 30 seconds. Apply two coats of Gellux Warm Pink Builder Gel (£11.95 +vat) and cure for 60 seconds in between layers (LED).
Step Two
Wipe the tacky layer with a lint free wipe and Nail + File Cleansing Spray. Afterwards, dip a petal brush into Gellux Purely White (£11.95 +vat) and create white flowers around the middle and ring fingers. Cure for 30 seconds.
Step Three
Now, using the same brush dipped in Gellux Ocean Coral (£11.95 +vat), add smaller flowers near the petals and cure for 30 seconds.
Step Four
Then, repeat the same process using Gellux Lemon Meringue Pie (£11.95 +vat) to create a tiny flower with a hole in the middle, cure again for 30 seconds.
Step Five
Using a dotting tool, apply Gellux Black Onyx (£11.95 +vat), to create some dots in the center of each flower, cure for 60 seconds.
Step Six
Dip a finer liner art brush in Black Onyx again and paint delicate leaves over the middle and ring fingers, cure for 60 seconds.
Step Seven
With a liner art brush, create French tips on the rest of the nails using Ocean Coral, cure for 60 seconds. Apply Gellux Mirror Glaze Top Coat (£11.95 +vat), cure for 60 seconds. Wipe tacky residue Gellux Prep + Wipe (£7.10 +vat) and apply Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.45 +vat).
Salon System Gellux is available from wholesalers nationwide.
