Ahead of our Virtual Competition on Monday 23rd January, we introduce the judging panel and welcome some new faces to the Warpaint judging family.
Bodypainting – Emma Cammack
Emma has been working as a bodypainter for the past 30 years. Her work has been featured in editorial, advertising, television, magazines, as fine art, on packaging, as live body art installations and more. Emma was a judge on Skin Wars and Skin Wars Fresh Paint. Emma’s recent work explores empowerment, self-love and body positivity. She is a passionate advocate of the power of bodypaint to promote self-confidence. Her work on TV shows such as Naked Beach in the UK and No Body is Perfect for German TV explore this.
Bridal – Jennifer Jane
Jennifer Jane is an internationally renowned hair and makeup artist, working out of London, North Yorkshire and the Balearics, best known for her stunning bridal work. Having started out as a model before becoming an MUA, she understands how products work in front of a camera. Jennifer trained at The London College of Fashion and Rouge School of Makeup and has now set up her own Bridal Makeup Academy working as Academy Director and Course Leader.
Character – Laura Phipps
Laura studied at the London College of Fashion with the dream of working in TV and Film. After graduating in 2004 she started her career in fashion and retail makeup. She then worked the UK Independent Film circuit, teaching herself along the way. In 2008 she studied advanced SFX with Neill Gorton and hasn’t looked back.
Along with beauty, fashion and editorial makeup, she has also worked as a wigs mistress for the RSC; prosthetics are definitely her first love. She now teaches the subject as well as working as a designer, supervisor and key artist on large productions. She loves seeing the new talent and passion emerging from new artists; they inspire her creativity and keep her passion alive, reminding her of what a privilege it is to do what you love.
Creative – Victoria Louise
Victoria Robinson, aka Victoria Louise MUA, is a freelance MUA and Educator teaching the next generation of Beauty Therapists & MUAs. She has been in the Industry for 24 years and has won numerous awards for her make up skills. Her work includes TV, Film & Theatre as well as working freelance on weddings for a number of years. She has a real passion for what she does.
Fashion – James MacInerney
Glow Up alumnus James Mac is a freelance beauty-glamour makeup/drag artist and runner up on BBC’s Glow Up series 2. James’ focus is on hyper creative looks, fashion, editorial and drag inspired makeup.
