Negative Space Christmas Tree Nails – Step by Step

December 7th, 2022

December 7th, 2022

This week’s Christmas nail design is a simple but beautiful negative space Christmas tree, created by Salon System nail expert Jaz Moger using the Gellux Collection.

If you don’t have Gellux products to hand you can substitute them for others.  If you are using non-gel polish, remember to use a good base coat and to let each coat set fully before moving on to the next step.

Step One

Prepare the nails by filing to shape, pushing back the cuticle, and buffing the nail plate. Cleanse nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe (£7.15 +vat) and apply Gellux Fast Bond (£5.85 +vat). Apply a coat of Gellux Builder Gel in Warm Pink (£11.95 +vat) and cure for 60 seconds.

Step Two

Using the new A/W shade Gellux Wicked Green (£11.95 +vat), mark out the top and the bottom of the tree with dots.

Step Three

Using a fine liner nail art brush, draw two lines to make the triangle.

Step Four

Next, paint around the triangle with Wicked Green and cure. Do 2-3 coats of this, curing each time.

Step Five

Using the new A/W shade Gellux Much Drama (£11.95 +vat), draw a tiny star at the tip of the tree and cure for 60 seconds.

Step Six

Finally, finish with a coat of Gellux Clear Base/Top Coat (£11.95+ vat), cure and then wipe over the nails with Prep + Wipe followed by Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.35 +vat).
