Here’s the low down on the schedule for the Warpaint Extra Live Stage at Look Good Live on Saturday 26th November.  Watch and listen to our amazing experts to learn the tricks of the trade from the best of the best.

 

Saturday’s stage host is Warpaint’s own Publisher and Editorial Director, Emma Rutherford.

Emma has been a writer and sub editor for decades and now publishes Warpaint Extra as well as directing editorial for both the digital and print editions of Warpaint. She can be found backstage at the opera, front row of the runway, interviewing the makeup designers or checking out the work of the bodypainters – in fact anywhere that the story goes – and reporting back to the Warpaint readers.  An educator and makeup obsessive, she is rarely seen without her signature red lip.

 

10:30-11:15 – Mature Beauty with Jo Peters

Jo will guide you through a full makeup demo specifically aimed at mature skin. She will discuss products and techniques to get the best out of your makeup application for this clientele, perfect for mothers or grandmothers of the bride, or just to gain some confidence on your own face. She will share tips on makeup styles for hooded eyes, lash application and skincare, Jo will also be happy to answer any questions you may have on the topic.

Jo Peters, aka @joannadelilah_makeup, is a Bristol-based makeup artist with 25 years of experience.  Specialising in beauty makeup and body painting – specifically baby bump painting – she has built a portfolio of hundreds of designs in the ten years she has been in the business.  She is now one of the UK’s best known bump painters and was featured on BBC’s The One Show.  Jo also teaches bridal and glam makeup at Bristol Beauty School, and media makeup at City of Bristol College.

 

11:30-12:15 – Getting Yourself Noticed! with Angela Youngs

Angela will talk about how to expand and push your existing skills, combined with a demonstration.

Angela Youngs, aka @middleagedmaker, has been face painting for approximately fifteen years.  A multi-award winning painter, she has painted both in the UK and abroad.  She is professional, prompt and has a sense of fun.  She is passionate about her job and teaches in several colleges, inspiring other artists.  Various clients include: The BRITS, IKEA, Floating Festivals, Tough Mudder, Lidl Mudder, Burger King and Snazaroo.  She was recently crowned the 2022 Face Champion at the Helsinki SFX Makeup Competition.

 

12:30-13:15 – Celeb Glow with Chloe Crowhurst by Sean Maloney

Celebrity make-up artist to the stars, Sean Maloney, joins us at Look Good Live with Love Island favourite Chloe Crowhurst to demonstrate a celeb inspired glowy makeup look.

Celebrity make-up artist to the stars Sean Maloney is known for working with names such as Lily Allen, Chelsee Healey, Katie Mcglyn, Katie Salmon, Holly Hagen, Kendall Rae Knight, Hayley Hughes, Emma Woodhams, Chloe Crowhurst, Amy Childs, Amy Willerton, Jasmine Walia, Jess Impiazzi, Chloe Khan, Jessica Cunningham, Sian Marie, Taylor Ward and Zara Holland, as well as Pretty Little Thing, Boohoo, InTheStyle, Channel 4, BBC, ITV, Netflix, MTV, and many more. He has his own make up academy, product line and has toured the UK and Australia with exclusive masterclasses

 

13:30-14:15 – PANEL DISCUSSION: The “business” of the beauty business

Hosted by Warpaint’s Emma Rutherford, the panel will talk about the benefits and challenges of being a freelance artist within the beauty industry.

The panel includes, Victoria Robinson, Angela Youngs, Emma Cammack and Tanya Noor.

 

 

14:30-15:15 – Mother Earth with Emma Cammack

Emma will be creating a look that incorporates a bodypaint and costume inspired by nature, trees and natural textures and patterns.

Emma has been working as a bodypainter for the past 30 years. Her work has been featured in editorial, advertising, television, magazines, as fine art, on packaging, as live body art installations and more. Emma was a judge on Skin Wars and Skin Wars Fresh Paint. Emma’s recent work explores empowerment, self-love and body positivity. She is a passionate advocate of the power of bodypaint to promote self-confidence. Her work on TV shows such as Naked Beach in the UK and No Body is Perfect for German TV explore this.

 

15:30-16:15 – Sustainability in the lash and make up industry with Liana Frappola

Liana will be talking about the importance of sustainable products, about her brand Northern Lashes, and demonstrate semi lashes extensions.

Liana has worked in the makeup and beauty industry for 22 years. Credits include London Fashion Week and The National Film Awards as well as running a very successful salon in Westhoughton, Greater Manchester for 20 years.  With a passion for sustainability and protecting the environment, Liana realised just much plastic is used in the beauty industry. As a result she launched Northern Lashes, a 100% biodegradable, plastic free range made from plant fibres, while also being vegan and cruelty free.  Liana trains the lash technicians of the future on accredited courses, using her eco-brand.  Northern Lashes provides lashes for lash technicians, makeup artists, theatre, film and TV.
