The Warpaint team are heading up to Coventry at the end of the month to take part in Look Good Live – the biggest beauty and Christmas shopping event of the year.
As well as running the Warpaint Extra National Student Makeup Competition on Friday 25th November, we have a packed schedule on the Warpaint Extra Live Stage across the entire weekend. Watch and listen to our amazing experts to learn the tricks of the trade from the best of the best.
Miki Evue
Friday’s programme is hosted by Miki Evue, educator, experienced MUA, and founder and director of Shelen. Miki has a passion for education, empowerment and the world of artistry; she is HE & Professional Deputy Head of Department at University Centre FutureSkills (Salford Uni & Salford City College) and FDA & BA Make-up Artistry Lecturer. Miki is also Vice Chairperson for Khaya Foundation – a charity that provides practical solutions to ensure children have access to an education irrespective of their circumstances.
10:30-11:15 – 1920s Glam Avant Garde Makeup Look by Claudia Dale from Shelen.
Claudia will demonstrate a 1920s glam makeup look, but with an avant garde twist!
Claudia Dale, Senior SHELEN MUA and Pro Freelance Artist, has a keen eye for artistic expression and her looks are elaborate, combining 3D elements. Claudia is an experimental MUA who brings colour and creativity to every piece of work.
11:30-12:15 – Glitz and glam look by Kelly Odell
Kelly will show you how to create a glitzy and glamorous look that you can replicate at home. After her stage session she will continue developing the look on the Warpaint Stand, taking it up several notches, so do go and see what she does.
Kelly Odell has been a makeup artist for 12 years and covers all styles from natural, bridal, glam and to the creative side such as face art and special effects. Leicester-based Kelly now has her own studio which she launched on 1st October 2021 where she teaches accredited courses and 1-2-1 lessons. She loves all style of makeup and enjoys the variety of places it can take her.
12:30-13:15 – Brow Blocking with Prosthetic vs Theatrical with Ryan Beaumont
Watch Ryan as he demonstrates brow blocking with glue vs using a prosthetic.
Ryan competed in season 4 of BBC’s Glow Up. He is a creative artist, monster maker, character creator, sculptor, artist, designer and FX student.
13:30-14:15 – Fashion Makeup Demonstration with Yasmin Heinz
Yasmin will create a contemporary look influenced by current film and catwalk trends.
Revered by the global pioneers in the beauty and fashion industries, Yasmin Heinz’s unique artistry is inspired by the creative spirit of London, the place she calls home. With her work gracing the pages of Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire and Vanity Fair among many publications, Yasmin has collaborated on the international stage with the likes of Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Dior and Vivienne Westwood. She has also worked with supermodels Alex Wek, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and Elle McPherson. Her latest book, in English, is the visually opulent coffee table beauty and art book Elements – The Art Of Make-Up displays Yasmin’s breath-taking work, using the human face as her canvas.
14:30-15:15 – The Warpaint Extra National Student Makeup Competition Awards
The winners of the National Student Makeup Competition will be announced live on stage, hosted by Emma Rutherford, Warpaint’s Editorial Director.

15:30-16:15 – Soft Eye Look Demonstration with Glamour Gran Ann
Using her Glam Goddess Palette, Ann will show you how to create a beautiful soft eye look and talk about mental health.
Born in Glasgow into a family of poverty and mental health challenges, Ann has developed and shared her make up artistry skills for over 40 years. At 67 years young, she has successfully grown globally, with a large audience reach across social media, as well as hosting events and performing demonstrations.
Ann believes that no matter the age, younger or more mature, we can work and help one another no matter what. She is a passionate, motivational speaker and an advocate for mental health speaking on an authentic level. Her mission is to take her message to the world and help others discover their true potential.
