internationally renowned makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench has launched her own makeup brand. She describes it: “INDUSTRIAL is a hardcore, hard-hitting concept both visually and materially. Leather and latex, piercings and rubber, flesh, strength, and self-possession, for makeup lovers who don’t want to conform.” Her first collection is made up of five products.
The Isamaya Beauty Industrial Colour Pigments Eyeshadow Palette (£95) is a 14-pan palette with a mix of special effect pearls, putty, and shimmer finishes. Isamaya created this palette to offer endless possibilities for creative expression. “I wanted the colours in the palette to come in different textures, so you have mattes, metallics, glitters and a few of them have an amazing creamy, almost oily texture that intensify the colours. They react to light beautifully too, especially the white that has a blue/purple iridescent undertone.” The palette is made with 3D technology and 30% PCR. Industrial Rubberlash Latex Lift Mascara (£35) has a curved wand that delivers an instant stretch effect and a fan-like finish for a false lash impression. It contains a blue coated triple black pigment for an inky, deep black colour, while conditioning oils nourish lash hairs to encourage growth.
Industrial Liplacq Maximising Lip Serum (£32) Infused with a botanical lip plumping complex, this deep berry pigmented lip serum nourishes lips for a fuller look. Industrial Browlacq Brow Laminator (£30) Strong-hold clear brow gel with glycerin and humectants to nourish the hair while holding them in place all day, and night.
Just launched is Industrial Skinlacq Triple Hyaluronic Glow Serum (£60) This radiance-boosting makeup-skincare hybrid serum looks incredible worn on its own or under makeup. It creates a pearlescent glow with a glass skin effect and contains a triple hyaluronic acid complex to deeply hydrate. Available now from isamaya, Selfridges and Dover Street Market.
Eyes set the tone for the finished look – and false eyelashes are one of the most impactful products to use to achieve the final outcome. Great for drawing attention to the eyes and a super-efficient way to add drama. Eyelash Emporium can cater to any lash preference – from natural to bold and dramatic. EyeGliner (£10.74) is a 2 in 1 strip lash adhesive and eyeliner that is vegan, latex free and waterproof. Allowing users to skip a step in their routine, the precision top pen not only draws winged drama but allows lashes to be simply placed on top. Available now from eyelashemporium.

Barrier-boosting skin care brand BYOMA has just launched REFILLS, priced from £8.99-£12.99. With this move, BYOMA will be the first entirely refillable skincare range at mass. These pump-free versions of the hero collection eliminate the need for non-recyclable pouch style refills and minimise reliance on single use plastic – meaning the only elements of their products which are not fully recyclable in household waste (droppers, mists & pumps) are designed to be reused again and again.
In addition to this, the square shape of BYOMA’s bottles makes shipping more efficient – thus lowering the brand’s carbon footprint – and allows all information that would traditionally be printed on cardboard outers to be displayed on each of the four sides of the pack instead. BYOMA has also partnered with One Tree Planted to help effectively offset carbon emissions by planting trees for a cleaner and greener planet. Available exclusively from cultbeauty.

Beauty Buddy is a beauty-centric app, developed in 2019, that not only allows consumers to access honest peer-to-peer reviews and product information via their phones. Viewed as the Trust Pilot of Beauty, it was created by two award- winning entrepreneurial Irish sisters, Wendy Slattery and Tracy Leavy who struggled to find honest and real user reviews at their fingertips when seeking out a new beauty product.
Covering makeup, skincare, haircare and fragrance, Beauty Buddy offers a positive in-store digital experience – no more dithering in the beauty aisles. It also allows brands and retailers to connect to customers through actionable data insights and product sampling.
The app creates an inclusive virtual community of like-minded ‘Beauty Buddies’ made up of real peer-to-peer users, who connect with each other to decide which brands to invest in, sharing trusted ratings, advice and recommendations. Later this year, Beauty Buddy plans to introduce ‘Lives’ on the app to meet the brands and ask questions, as well as build more community interaction. Available to download for iOS and Android.
