Say hello to VIEVE Modern Radiance Concealer (£22) the brand’s first step into the complexion category. A does-it-all formula available in 20 skin-true shades, it is the first in a carefully curated collection of flawless base products. When makeup artist Jamie Genevieve launched VIEVE back in November 2020, she wanted to create a brand that was user friendly and that truly delivered on powerful pigments and luxurious formulas, branching out into base products is the next step.
Bursting with hydrating hyaluronic acid, Modern Radiance Concealer not only brightens and colour corrects skin, conceals the appearance of redness blemished and dark circles but also always imparts a natural-looking, radiant and nourishing glow. The formula works to correct and perfect skin, and create a natural-looking, flawless and luminous finish with minimal effort required. It has a medium-to-full coverage, but Jamie wanted to ensure it had a good stretch; meaning the formula can easily be sheered out for lighter coverage while simultaneously evening out the look of skin.
Available in 20 true-to-skin shades that won’t oxidise throughout the day, it blends seamlessly into skin and the desired coverage can be customised by building up the formula as much or as little as you like. Supplied with a doe foot applicator, it can be used as either a true match shade to correct imperfections, in a lighter shade to brighten or highlight, or choose a darker shade to add contoured depth and definition. 100% vegan and cruelty-free. Available now from vieve.

Industry News
Finnish material innovation startup, Sulapac (the pioneer in sustainable materials replacing plastic) and Schwan Cosmetics (German makeup supplier for many of the world’s biggest cosmetic companies) have teamed up to create a the Better Barrel – a cosmetic pencil with a plant based barrel encasing, replacing the virgin plastic that is traditionally required to make lip and eyeliner.
To date, the main challenge of using bio-based materials in cosmetic pencils is that most natural materials are not capable of maintaining the freshness of the makeup inside the pencil. For this reason, most makeup pencils today are encased in virgin plastic. The eco-friendly and airtight packaging that holds the sensitive ingredients is made with 72% bio-based material, side-stream wood chips, and natural binders. These are the first colour cosmetic pencils made with sustainable Sulapac materials, and like a piece of wood on the forest floor, these materials break down into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass, leaving no traces behind. TheBetterBarrel product line will be launched officially at the tradeshow MakeUp in New York on September 14 and 15.
