Haircuts 4 Homeless are launching an exhibition at Angel Central, north London, for three consecutive weekends from 1st September until 18th September.  The registered charity, set up by veteran hairdresser Stewart Roberts, has teamed up with Angel Central to showcase beautiful portrait photographs and intimate quotes from its new book Hear Me, See Me. In a collaboration which saw Stewart team up with photographer Jack Eames and session hairstylist Leigh Keates to document the charity’s clients’ spoken stories over the past three years, to create an inspirational photographic coffee table book featuring the charity’s guests and will be available to buy at the exhibition.

The exhibition aims to raise awareness of the charity and to humanise the face of homelessness by challenging stigmas and stereotypes via honest, thought-provoking imagery and words to acknowledge that the smallest of actions can have the greatest effect. A haircut can give someone a real boost. It’s often way down on a homeless person’s priorities so the service proves to be very popular. One of people’s basic rights is for them to feel good about themselves and this service can give that to people.  The Haircuts4Homeless exhibition will open to the public on Friday 2nd September and run every Friday to Sunday until the 18th of September.

 

Mavala UK are proud to be supporting breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel! for the second year running during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. They are launching the Power of Pink Collection, which will be available nationwide in October and £1 from each product sale will go to CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! was founded in 2009 by Kris Hallenga and her twin sister Maren, after Kris was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer at just 23. As the first breast cancer charity in the UK to solely create awareness amongst young people, CoppaFeel! exists to educate every young person on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, encourage them to check regularly and empower them to seek advice from their doctors if they notice any unusual changes to their chest.

The collecton will include four special products, all of which will help the wearer feel amazing, whether or not they are going through treatment for cancer. The collection includes; a limited-edition Power of Pink Mini Colour nail polish (£6.20), Candy Tinted Lip Balm (£7.20), Crayon Lumiere in Prune Flambee (£11.50) and the Clean and Comfort Micellar Water (£13.50).  All will be available from pharmacies nationwide in October.
