SBC’s Green Caviar skin range harnesses the benefits of sea grape caviar and its anti-ageing properties.  The algae grows in tropical and subtropical climates, and has a high mineral density as well as rich quantities of vitamins A, E and C and amino acids.  It helps to support the skin’s hydrolipidic film which helps the skin maintain suppleness and moisture, but can be damaged by external aggressors, causing excess dryness, wrinkles and dehydration.  The Green Caviar helps balance and brighten skin, reduce pore size while focussing on hydration and anti-ageing.   Sourced from sustainable algae farmed in the Philippines, the cold extraction method used retains 99.4% natural origin.

The range includes Perfecting Moisturiser (£25) suitable for all skin types and ideal for dull, dehydrated skin and to target signs of ageing. Perfecting Serum (£29) enhances hydrating and energises the complexion, smoothing fine lines and giving a veil of dewy hydration. The eleventh Free From Skincare Awards will open to entries on 21st March.  The Awards — which celebrate the best cosmetic products ‘free from’ some of the allergens and other ingredients many consumers wish to or need to avoid — feature sixteen product categories, plus special awards for Best Brand, for Free From Achievement and a new award for Best Labelling.

A Best Labelling Award is long overdue,” says Awards’ Director Alex Gazzola. “We’ll be looking for brands and products which demonstrate excellence in labelling — be it in communicating ingredients, instructions for use, suitability, and any allergen guidance or ‘free from’ statements, if used. Those with sensitive skin or who avoid certain ingredients rely on clarity in labelling, and we’ll be rewarding the very best.”

But the ‘old favourite’ categories will still be there this year, including Hair CareMen’s GroomingDeodorantsProblem Skin, as well as many categories dedicated to Face Care and Body Care.

Brands sold and distributed in the UK, Ireland and Europe are eligible to participate in the Free From Skincare Awards. Entries close 3rd May. The Finalists are revealed in June, and the Winners are announced in July.

For news and entry updates follow the Awards’ social media pages: Instagram, facebook and twitter.  And for information on rules, terms, conditions and how to enter, see here.

The Hair and Beauty Charity are still working to support those that need their help.  They had over £250,000 donated from professional beauty expert, Caroline Hirons and the Beauty Backed campaign. They have funds available for those people who do need their help; ask them if you need support.

They are a small charity and have to prioritise assistance to those who need it most urgently.  Priority will be given to households where only one adult (working within the industry) provides the only income to the household (e.g. if you live with your partner who will still receive an employed wage, priority will be given to single parent families whose only income is dependent on their hair/beauty industry wage).  Visit their website for more information and to make an application.
