Looking for some new, dreamy makeup? Made in the UK and tried and tested in the industry for 35 years, Glynn McKay‘s range of products have always been a go to for professional makeup artists. Problood (from £10) is a non-staining artificial blood, vegan-friendly and 100% realistic.  It is washable if the fabric allows.  Problood has been medically checked for realism and has a proven track-record of registering well on television and film recordings. It is popular among TV makeup artists for casualty simulation and is widely used on stage.  Safe to be held in the mouth but not to be used in the eyes.  Available in 100ml and 1ltr bottles and Original and Dark. Can be used on skin, costumes and props. The formula becomes part of the skin rather than sitting on the surface creating an ultra-realistic effect.

Industry News

Entries are now officially open for the 2022 Attracta Beauty Awards.  Brands and experts within the fields of beauty including skincare, makeup, hair, wellness and fragrance are invited to enter.  Now into its eighth year, there are three new categories this year: ‘Male Self-Care’, ‘Health & Wellbeing’ ‘Fragrance’ as well as an expanded professional ‘Beauty Experts’ category.

Founded by leading international make-up artist Attracta Courtney and judged entirely independently by a hand-picked, esteemed panel of twelve noted celebrity and professional experts spanning health, beauty, wellness and hair. All entries must be received by the 4th April.  Shortlisted brands will be announced online May 24th with winners & finalists announced online July 4th.  There will be a  Top 10 Winners Presentation Ceremony July 7th in London.

 

 

Professional colour house, OSMO is pleased to announce the appointment of its latest Brand Ambassador, Micky Graham.  An expert in barbering and education, Micky is a self-taught barber of 10 years and recently opened his own studio space in Newcastle, County Down, named ‘Location X’.  Having won British Master Barbers ‘Barber of the Year’ title in 2016, Micky is recognised for spotting upcoming trends and for his precision work.  Excelling in all aspects of barbering, it’s his fading techniques that set him apart, whilst his energetic approach to teaching leaves students with not only new ideas, but renewed enthusiasm for the craft.

Micky has worked with us within his role at Great British Barber Bash for some time now and we’ve always been admirers of his work, so it was a natural progression for us both.  We’re looking forward to embracing Micky’s energy and skills within the new educational programme we’ll be rolling out in 2022.  It’s exciting times ahead for us all,” OSMO Brand Manager, Sinéad McLaughlin said.

 

The Fudge Professional team have been super busy getting their fourth In The Chair series ready.  This collaboration is with Global Brand Ambassador Jonathan Andrew and Love Island star Chris Hughes.  The series explores the open, honest and secret-spililng relationship between a hairdresser and their client whilst giving viewers a backstage pass to Jonathon’s very best tips and tricks.  They talk silver hair fails, amongst other things, and you also great a treat of Chris rapping.  Episodes can be found on Instagram and YouTube – just search for @fudgehair.
