Salon System nail expert Julie-Anne Larivière, has created this Candy Cane nail design, using Gellux, just in time for Christmas.
If you don’t have Gellux products to hand then you can substitute them for others. If you are using non-gel polish, remember to use a good base coat and to let each coat set fully before moving on to the next step.
Step One
Prepare the nails by pushing back cuticles, trimming excess, shaping the free edge, and buffing the nail plate with a white block. Dust well and wipe thoroughly with Salon System Nail + File Cleansing Spray (£6.95 +vat). Apply Gellux Gel Polish Fast Bond (£5.85 +vat), let dry for 30 seconds then apply two coats of Gellux Light Pink Builder Gel (£11.95 +vat) curing for 60 seconds in between layers.
Step Two
Apply a thin layer of Gellux Masquerade Ball Diamonds & Pearls (£11.95 +vat), then cure for 30 seconds.
Step Three
Using a thin liner brush dipped in Gellux Purely White (£11.95 +vat), paint half a skinny French tip and half a cuff, cure for 30 seconds.
Step Four
Now, dip your fine liner in Gellux Really Red (£7.25 +vat) and paint the other half of the tip and the cuff and then cure.
Step Five
Repeat steps 4 and 5 using reverse colours.
Step Six
Apply Gellux Shiny Top Coat (£11.95 +vat), cure for 60 seconds. Wipe with Gellux Prep + Wipe (£7.10 +vat) and apply Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.35 +vat).
Salon System Gellux is available from wholesalers nationwide.
