Salon System nail expert Jaz Moger has created a Tortoise Shell Nails step by step using the Gellux Collection.
If you don’t have Gellux products to hand you can substitute them for others. If you are using non-gel polish, remember to use a good base coat and to let each coat set fully before moving on to the next step.
Step One
Prepare the nails by filing to shape, pushing back the cuticle and buffing the nail plate. Cleanse nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe (£7.15 +vat), apply Gellux Fast Bond (£5.85 +vat). Apply one coat of Gellux Builder Gel in Light Pink (£11.95 +vat) and cure.
Step Two
Paint one coat of Gellux We Rise By Lifting Others (£11.95 +vat) and cure for 30 seconds.
Step Three
Next, paint a light coat of Gellux Invite Only (£11.95 +vat) and cure for 30 seconds.
Step Four
Mix a small amount of Gellux Black Onyx (£11.95+ vat, with some Gellux Clear Base and Top Coat (£11.95 +vat) and paint a few random strokes across each nail and then cure for 30 seconds.
Step Five
Paint a coat of Clear Base and Top Coat and randomly dab in some dark patches of Black Onyx to add depth and cure for 30 seconds.
Step Six
Finally, finish with a final coat of Clear Base/Top Coat. Once cured, wipe over the nails with Prep + Wipe and oil the cuticles with Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.35 +vat).
Salon System Gellux is available from wholesalers nationwide.
