Regular readers will know that here at Warpaint we are big fans of all things NARS. We also LOVE Christmas. So we were very happy when we saw the brand had launched their latest Holiday Collection: Style. Unwrapped. There are new limited-edition sets featuring iconic NARS shades that are bound to be bestsellers, coupled with cult favourites that will encourage you to swipe, shade, line and define for the whole season. Unapologetic, unfiltered and undeniably NARS – and – if you can bear to part with them – you can even gift them to your nearest and dearest too as they come in fabulous festive packaging.
We asked some of NARS leading artists to tell us about their favourite items in the collection and how they recommend using them.

Rachel Hardie, NARS Lead Artist says: nothing beats a dazzling eye for the festive season, Unwrapped Laguna Inspired Mini Palette is a great collection of colours to create a rich, earthy smoky eye that looks incredible on everyone. I usually start with a cream base at the root of the lash, blending and softening the line. Via Veneto High Pigment Liner is perfect as it doesn’t budge. From the palette I like to layer the shade Liberation directly on top and softening that edge further. To give a sunrise effect use a fluffy brush with the shade Faster Pussycat or Isolde II to blend seamlessly. Sun Storm is the perfect gold to press directly on top, for that instant party glamour.

An 80s disco blush is very on trend for the Holiday season, it instantly lifts the face. Unwrapped Orgasm Blush Duo has two of our most iconic shades, Orgasm and Orgasm X. Used together they create a beautiful dimensional blush. Starting with Orgasm, I lightly dust the blush close to the eye, into the hairline and the top of the cheekbone. Then to add extra depth and burst of colour, apply Orgasm X toward the centre of the face.

Anita Audacious Lipstick is my signature lip colour. I love that it now has the limited gold packaging! Anita is a beautiful rose nude and looks great on all skin tones. The buttery formula is great for lasting the evening, one swipe gives intense coverage. Add a touch of concealer to the centre of the lip, for a dimensional look without adding gloss.

Rebecca Moore, NARS Senior Artist says: from beginner to expert the Unwrapped Orgasm Mini Eyeshadow Palette is great for anyone! With the high pigment payoff and range of shimmer, sparkling and matte shades. This is a beautiful palette to create a multi-tone glitter smokey eye look which is perfect for the Christmas season. Using the Clear Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base to prevent any creasing throughout the night, I start with Danger Girl first, applying a strong colour onto the lip and blending towards the crease with a fluffy brush.

Now we layer our favourite sparkly colours from the palette. With your finger apply Full Moon into the corner of the eye and the brow bone. This will keep the eyes open and bright. To add more depth of the coral shade, I like to apply Seduced all over the lid up to the crease and finally for a pop of colour apply Pattaya in the centre of the lid for an extra oomph! Finish the look with Climax Mascara!

The finely milled High Profile Cheek Palette comes in 6 different shades wth Contour, Highlight and Blusher tones which will be perfect for all party occasions. I apply the deeper shade first to give my face some definition. I love to mix two different blusher colours together for a customised blush onto the apple of the cheeks blending into the contour colour. For a natural dewy finish apply the highlighter colour on top of the cheek bone. As the colours come in different intensities this palette is flattering on all skin tones! Tip: Use this on the eyes for a subtle Smokey eye.
