Salon System nail expert Karen Louise has created a spooky hallowe’en step-by-step using Gellux.
If you don’t have Gellux products to hand then you can substitute them for others. If you are using non-gel polish, remember to use a good base coat and to let each coat set fully before moving on to the next step.
Step One
Prepare the nails, file to shape, push back cuticle and gently buff the nail plate. Brush away any dust and wipe over with Gellux Prep + Wipe (£7.10 +vat). Apply Gellux Fast Bond (£5.85 +vat) and let dry. Apply a thin coat of Gellux Cover Pink Base Coat (£11.95 +vat) to the nails and cure.
Step Two
Using Gellux Live & Loud (£11.95 +vat) on a small detailing brush create your pumpkin shape on the cuticle area of the thumb, index and pinky finger, and cure. Then using Gellux Purely White (£11.95 +vat) create the ghost shape at the cuticle area of the remaining fingers, and cure.
Step Three
Using Gellux Black Onyx (£11.95 +vat) outline the shapes and draw in faces, and cure.
Step Four
At the tips of the nails use Black Onyx paint on the tip half way then paint on the other half using Live & Loud then blend the two together in the middle to create the ombre effect tip.
Then do the same with Black Onyx and Purely White, then cure.
Step Five
Finally, apply Gellux Shiny Top Coat (£11.95 +vat), making sure to cap the free edge, and cure. Next wipe the nails with Prep + Wipe and apply Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.35 +vat).
Salon System Gellux is available from wholesalers nationwide.
