Here at Warpaint we LOVE Hallowe’en as you may have picked up from our Instagram stories and feed. During October we will be sharing lots of spooky themed nail designs that you can recreate at home to compliment your look – Hallowe’en isn’t just for parties after all!
First up is this Evil Eye design from Salon System nail expert Julie-Anne Larivière, created using Gellux.
If you don’t have Gellux products to hand then you can substitute them for others. If you are using non-gel polish, remember to use a good base coat and to let each coat set fully before moving on to the next step.
Step One
Prepare the nails by pushing back cuticles, trimming excess, shaping the free edge, and buffing the nail plate with a white block. Dust well and wipe thoroughly with Gellux Nail + File Cleansing Spray (£6.95 +vat). Apply Gellux Gel Polish Fast Bond (£5.85 +vat), let dry for 30 seconds then apply two coats of Gellux Cover Pink Base Coat (£11.95 +vat) curing in between layers.
Step Two
With a nail art brush create large half-moons on each nail using Gellux Purely White (£11.95 +vat), and cure.
Step Three
Dip a nail art brush in Gellux Devil Red (£11.95 +vat) and create a red circle inside the half-moons, and cure.
Step Four
Dip your brush into Gellux Black Onyx (£11.95 +vat) and create the pupil of the eyes by adding a smaller black circle inside each red circle.
Step Five
Then, dip your brush into Gellux Emerald City (£7.25 +vat) and create some slime drip at the bottom of the eyes, and cure.
Step Six
Using a very fine liner brush dipped into Black Onyx outline the eyes and add some small lines on the iris of the eyes, cure.
Step Seven
Now dip a nail art brush or dotting tool into Purely White and add a small white dot inside each eye, and cure.
Step Eight
Apply Gellux Shiny Top Coat (£11.95 +vat), curing for 60-90 seconds. Wipe with Gellux Prep + Wipe (£7.10 +vat) and apply Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.35 +vat).
Salon System Gellux is available from wholesalers nationwide.
