Terry Barber, Director of Makeup Artistry at M·A·C is promoting orange as the hot colour for summer.   ‘With pops of colour being an essential for new beauty, try a vivid orange as an alternative to a classic red lip or smoky eye. Think of it like an 80’s electro pop revival or even a bit of new rave. Wearing a shot of orange on an otherwise decluttered face will always ensure its chic, not garish.’

Create the look with and Powder Kiss Soft Matte Eye Shadow in So Haute Right Now (£17.50) and In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash Mascara (£22).  Available from MAC counters and stockists nationwide.

Its crystalline phase, enriched with soft oils, dissolves even the most resistant and intense make-up without the need for rubbing, while its bluish Alpline water-based phase, enriched with a mineral complex, leaves the skin around the eyes feeling fresh, clean and soft.

The ultra-gentle formulation has been ophthalmologically tested and is safe for use on sensitive eyes.  Available from leading pharmacies.

Leading aesthetic surgeon Dr Steve Harris has partnered with beauty device experts CurrentBody to launch the world’s first Anti-Wrinkle Sleep Mask (£85).  Dr Harris found himself frowning due to stress while trying to sleep on a long-haul flight, which exacerbates tension around the eye, causing lined lines and wrinkles in the long-term.  When handed a sleep mask he realised that if the mask could press on his forehead whilst sleeping it would naturally relax the face.

Six years later his idea has come to fruition.  With over 17,000 sensory receptors in the face, the patented silicone on the mask has been clinically proven to reduce wrinkles by up to 64%.  This 15-minute relaxing treatment offers five hours of wrinkle-reduction as well as mental relaxation.  As well as targeting wrinkle-reducing sensory receptors The Dr Harris Mask also stimulates the same receptors to ease tension around frown and smile lines for immediate relief.  Easy to sanitise, this is the ideal tool to help relax clients before and after treatment, or between scenes on set.  Available exclusively from currentbody.

Suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skin.  Available from feelunique and lookfantastic.

To round out RevitaLash Cosmetics’ philanthropic efforts, the brand will be offering their International Greater Giving Programme for the third year in a row, expanding to 15 countries, including the UK.  As part of this global initiative, each of the participating countries will set a personal donation goal to work towards, and once hit, RevitaLash Cosmetics will assist them in donating to the breast cancer organization of their choice.

In the UK the chosen charity is Future Dreams Breast Cancer Charity that was established in 2008 by mother and daughter Sylvie Henry and Danielle Leslie after both were diagnosed with breast cancer. Tragically, both women lost their lives to the disease within a year of each other in 2009. Their dream was to make sure that nobody should ever have to face this illness on their own.

The brand’s annual Pink Programme kicked off on 16th August and continues until 31st October.  For each and every RevitaLash® Advanced (3.5mL/2.0mL RRP £110/£89) and RevitaBrow® Advanced (3.0mL RRP £99) purchased during this time RevitaLash Cosmetics will donate $2 (£1.44) to breast cancer charities around the world, up to a maximum of $140,000 (equivalent to £101,071.74).  RevitaLash Cosmetics products are available in select spas, salons and specialty retailers and online at revitalash.

The Hair and Beauty Charity are still working to support those that need their help.  They had over £250,000 donated from professional beauty expert, Caroline Hirons and the Beauty Backed campaign. They have funds available for those people who do need their help; ask them if you need support.

They are a small charity and have to prioritise assistance to those who need it most urgently.  Priority will be given to households where only one adult (working within the industry) provides the only income to the household (e.g. if you live with your partner who will still receive an employed wage, priority will be given to single parent families whose only income is dependent on their hair/beauty industry wage).  Visit their website for more information and to make an application.
