Jo Peters aka joannadelilah_makeup is a Bristol-based makeup artist with 25 years of experience. Specialising in beauty makeup and body painting – specifically baby bump painting – she has built a portfolio of hundreds of designs in the ten years she has been in the business. She is now one of the UK’s best known bump painters and was featured on BBC’s The One Show. Jo also teaches bridal and glam makeup at Bristol Beauty School, and media makeup at City of Bristol College.
Here Jo shares her hero products with us.
MAC Lightful Softening Lotion (£24). I couldn’t be without this product for makeup clients! It is gentle and has a mild liquid exfoliant which can dissolve rough edges to dry skin when applied with a cotton pad. It leaves the skin slightly tacky which is a great base for a serum and moisturiser. Creates a lovely base for makeup.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation (£34) Wow! Full coverage and really gives a beautiful finish.
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (£24) Another wow product, doubles as a very good eye base and for me it’s the ultimate concealer, a little goes a long way.
Mehron Celebre Pro HD Foundation Palette (£237.40) This 20-colour palette is a must, beautiful for an all over foundation and can be sheered with moisturiser or used alone, it’s silky and easy to work with. Very handy as shade adjusters when mixed with liquid foundations and lovely for contouring.
Mehron Celebre Pro HD Pressed Powder Palette (£78.80), this matches the cream palette above and I couldn’t be without either, lovely as a finishing powder, bronzer or contour but it is fantastic as an eyeshadow palette! I love the warm shades to blend out a soft Smokey eye.
Mehron Eye & Cheek Combo Powder Palette (£41.30) I don’t think I’ve ever done a makeup without using this palette, just so useful!.
Bobbi Brown BBU Palette & Universal Lip Palette All of the lipsticks and concealer shades you will ever need and lovely formulas which always work.
MAC Art Library Nude Model Eyeshadow Palette (£39) This is the perfect eye palette for bridal and beauty makeup, lovely cool toned nudes.
Kiehls Rare Earth Pore Minimising Lotion. Fabulous to prep and prime oily skin to prolong the longevity of wear for the client.
For bump painting I always go back to Mehron Paradise Paints (£10.84), they blend like a dream!
I could go on and on and on, but finally Bdellium Tools Brushes, in particular the blue triangle range however all of their brushes are absolutely gold star!
