Now lockdown is easing charities like Haircuts4Homeless are back up and running, helping those in need.  They started again this week at Whitechapel Mission, London and have 15 other projects reopening across the UK over the next two weeks.

It may be “just a haircut”, but it’s the kindness shown that makes a homeless person know that people really care.  Watch their film with BEAUTY PAPERS

During lockdown Haircuts4Homeless started their podcast:  Hear Me, See Me which is led by founder Stewart Roberts who has spent the last six years building up the charity from a single session in Essex to 65 projects across the UK and Ireland, with over 600 volunteers and over 40,000 haircuts given so far.  In that time, he has met so many wonderful people with amazing stories that deserve to be told – hence the brilliant podcast. From the homeless people to the volunteers, the people who work in the homeless centres and their ambassador and Game of Thrones Star Lena Headey and many more are interviewed on the podcast, giving them a voice and helping them from feeling invisible.

A haircut can have a great effect on someone, giving them a real boost. It’s often way down on a homeless person’s priorities with what lack of money so the service proves to be very popular.  One of people’s basic rights is to feel good about themselves, and this service can give this to people and bring a smile back to their lips.
