Easter Chick Nails – Step By Step

April 3rd, 2021

April 3rd, 2021

As an Easter Saturday treat we have this cute chick design created by Salon System nail expert Julie-Anne Larivière.

She used Gellux, but if you don’t have Gellux products to hand then you can substitute them for others.  If you are using non-gel polish, remember to use a good base coat and to let each coat set fully before moving on to the next step.

Step One

File the nails to shape, push the cuticles back with the Gellux Cuticle Handy Manicure Tool (£6.95 +vat) and gently buff the surface of the nails with a white block.

Thoroughly wipe nails with Gellux Nail + File Cleansing Spray (£6.95 +vat) and a lint free pad.  When the nails are dry apply Gellux Fast Bond (£5.85 +vat) and let dry for 30 seconds.

Then apply one very thin layer of Gellux Builder Gel in Light Natural (£11.95 +vat): one thin layer then one thicker making sure to build an apex. Cure in between coats for 60 seconds.

Step Two

Using a nail art brush dipped in Gellux It’s An Attitude (£11.95 +vat), create the body of the little chick. Cure for 30 seconds, if needed apply a second coat and cure again.

Step Three

Mix a little of Gellux Wow Factor (£11.95 +vat), with It’s An Attitude, and paint a wing. Then, dip your liner in Wow Factor, only and create the beak and legs, cure for 30 seconds.

Step Four

Repeat the step three process with the remaining Gellux colours: Wow Factor, It’s an Attitude and Dare To Wear (£11.95 +vat) cure for 60 seconds.

Step Five

Next, dip a dotting tool into Gellux Rocker-Bye Baby (£11.95 +vat), to create a cheek. Then, dip a fine liner brush into Gellux Shout It Out (£11.95 +vat), and paint a little bow tie.  Cure for 30 seconds.

Step Six

Then, using a fine liner dipped in Gellux Black Onyx (£11.95 +vat), outline the chick then paint a black oval overlapping the cheek for the eye. Cure for 30 seconds.

Step Seven

Again, using a fine liner dipped in Gellux Purely White (£11.95 +vat) create small dots on the belly and one inside the eye for extra detail, and cure for 60 seconds.

Step Eight

Finally, apply Gellux Matte Base & Top Coat (£11.95 +vat) and cure again.  Wipe the nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe (£7.10 +vat) and apply Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.35 +vat) to finish your cute chick Easter nails.

Salon System Gellux is available from wholesalers nationwide.
