Salon System nail expert Jaz Moger created this lovely Aquarius-inspired nail design using Gellux. You can recreate this at home with her step by step.
If you don’t have Gellux products to hand you can substitute them for others. If you are using non-gel polish, remember to use a good base coat and to let each coat set fully before moving on to the next step.
Step One
File the nails to shape, push the cuticles back, trimming excess with the Gellux Cuticle Handy Manicure Tool (£6.95 +vat) and gently buff the surface of the nails with a white block.
Thoroughly wipe nails with Gellux Nail + File Cleansing Spray (£6.95 +vat) and a lint free pad. When the nails are dry apply Gellux Fast Bond (£5.85 +vat) and let dry for 30 seconds. Then apply one very thin layer of Gellux Cover Pink Base Cast (£11.95 +vat) and cure for 60 seconds.
Step Two
Next, apply a coat of Gellux Builder Gel in Cool White (£11.95 +vat) and smudge some Gellux Butterfly Blue (£11.95 +vat), into the builder gel before curing for 60 seconds.
Step Three
Then, using a thin fine liner nail art brush and Gellux Purely White (£11.95 +vat), paint some wiggly lines, do not cure.
Step Four
Dip a slightly bigger nail art brush into some Gellux Acetone (£3.10 +vat) and lightly dab the brush along the white line. The acetone will cause the line to ‘bleed’ a little. Once you have done this to every line, cure for 30 seconds.
Step Five
Next, lightly paint random patches of Gellux Butterfly Blue and Arabian Nights (both £11.95 +vat), onto the nail but not all over, cure for 30 seconds.
Step Six
Once cured, add some NSQUK Fairy Flakes and dab over the whole nail with Angel Foil followed by a coat of Gellux Clear Base & Top Coat (£11.95 +vat), and cure for 30 seconds.
Step Seven
Wipe over the nails with Acetone. Using Purely White draw on the Aquarius lines across the ring finger (this helps to create a guide line), cure for 30 seconds and then go over the lines with Gellux Stick-It-Glue (£1.35 +vat) and cure for 60 seconds.
Step Eight
Next, dab gold foil onto the Aquarius lines previously created.
Step Nine
Using a pair of tweezers, pick out some decals from the Magpie Beauty Constellation stickers pack and stick them onto the bare nails.
Step Ten
Next, paint a thin line of Stick-It-Glue all the way around each nail, cure for 60 seconds and then dab gold foil on.
Step Eleven
Finally, apply Gellux Clear Base & Top Coat and cure again. Wipe the nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe (£7.10 +vat) and apply Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.35 +vat) to finish.
