Byredo have just launched a new addition to their pioneering makeup line: the limited edition Prismic Eyeshadow Palette (£77) The 18 carefully curated colours span a rainbow of shades from grunge to glamour, including a sparkling copper red; an ethereal shimmering lilac; a soft matte navy. Rather than being neatly arranged in a formulaic gradient, the limited-edition set is presented as a disrupted series designed to provoke experimentation — with each highly buildable, blendable shade designed to inspire instinctive rather than prescriptive application. Available from 4th February at byredo.
The Makeup Armoury’s Jan Sewell has designed the Maqpro Essential Grande Palette By Jan Sewell (£265). As Maqpro is Jan’s go to, not just for beauty makeup but special FX too, she wanted to design a palette that incorporated both. This palette covers everything from base shades, colour correcting, dirtying down and FX. Made with the original Maqpro Fard Cream, colours can be mixed with alcohol if you need that long-lasting effect and can be easily altered in transparency or thickness with Makeup Mixer. Gives up to 12 to 15 hours without transfer or touch ups while being kind to the skin having been formulated with a derivative of beeswax which moisturises and protects the skin from external elements. It gives a luminous reflection thanks to its generous and intense mineral pigments which reflect the light instead of absorbing it like traditional cosmetics. Extremely versatile and can be used for everything from foundation to lipstick. Resilient to heat and frost and can be used and stored in all climates without losing its properties. Available from themakeuparmoury.

The Hair and Beauty Charity are still working to support those that need their help. They have had just over £250,000 donated recently from professional beauty expert, Caroline Hirons and the Beauty Backed campaign. They have funds available for those people who do need their help; ask them if you need support.
They are a small charity and have to prioritise assistance to those who need it most urgently. Priority will be given to households where only one adult (working within the industry) provides the only income to the household (e.g. if you live with your partner who will still receive an employed wage, priority will be given to single parent families whose only income is dependent on their hair/beauty industry wage). Visit their website for more information and to make an application.
