In early March, the Beauty Therapy and Media Makeup students at West Herts College in Watford took part in their annual Makeup Competition.  Devised by Level 3 lecturer, Remy Morris and her colleagues, it gives both Level 2 and Level 3 students a taste of life on the competition floor with a catwalk and awards ceremony at the end of the day.

Warpaint headed along to join in the judging panel along with award-winning face painter, Juliet Eve of Façade Academy and the College’s own Alberto Ucci.  2017’s Face Painter of the Year, Juliet is a regular visitor to the college and teaches face and body painting as a visiting lecturer.

The theme for 2020 was Climate Change and the standard was very high, with more than 30 students competing across four different levels.

Level 2 Media Makeup

Winner: Teressa Almeria

Runner up: Millie Harrington

Level 3 Media Makeup

1^st – Aliyah Labastide

Runner up – Katie Samms

Award in Media Makeup

1^st – Francesca Keller

Runner up – Etkin Nurten
