To tie in with our Christmas Naughty and Nice #WarpaintChallenge we asked Salon System nail expert Julie-Anne Larivière to create a festive nail design. Here’s what she came up with.
She created this fabulous design using the new Gellux Star Attraction Collection, but if you don’t have Gellux products to hand then you can substitute them for others. If you are using non-gel polish, remember to use a good base coat and to let each coat set fully before moving on to the next step.
Step One
File the nails to shape, push the cuticles back with the Gellux Cuticle Handy Manicure Tool (£6.95 +vat) and gently buff the surface of the nails with a white block.
Thoroughly wipe nails with Gellux Nail + File Antiseptic Spray (£6.95 +vat) and a lint free pad. When the nails are dry apply Gellux Fast Bond (£5.85 +vat). Let dry for 30 seconds. Then apply one very thin layer of Gellux Builder Gel in Light Pink (£11.95 +vat) one thin layer, then one thicker making sure to build an apex. Cure in between coats for 30 seconds.
Step Two
Next, apply two layers of Gellux Fabulous Darling (£11.95+VAT), curing in between layers for 30 seconds.
Step Three
Then, apply a horizontal stroke of Gellux Centre of Attention glitter polish (£11.95 +vat)) in the centre of each nail. Cure for 30 seconds..
Step Four
Repeat Step 3 but this time using Gellux Spotlight glitter polish (£11.95 +vat).
Step Five
Dip a fine detail brush into Gellux Purely White (£11.95 +vat) and paint some twinkles and dots where you have applied the glitter polishes. Cure for 60 seconds.
Step Six
Finally, apply Gellux Shiny Top Coat (£11.95 +vat) and cure for 60 – 90 seconds. Next wipe the nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe (£7.10 +vat) and apply Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.35 +vat).
Salon System Gellux is available from wholesalers nationwide.
