Here at Warpaint Towers we are extending Hallowe’en for as long as possible. Have you seen our latest challenge?! So when we saw Salon System nail expert Julie-Anne Larivière‘s glow in the dark neon cats nail design we just had to share it.
She created this fabulous design using Gellux but if you don’t have Gellux products to hand then you can substitute them for others. If you are using non-gel polish, remember to use a good base coat and to let each coat set fully before moving on to the next step.
Step One
File the nails to shape, push the cuticles back with the Gellux Cuticle Handy Manicure Tool (£6.95 +vat) and gently buff the surface of the nails with a white block. Thoroughly wipe nails with Gellux Nail + File Antiseptic Spray (£6.95 +vat) and a lint free pad. When the nails are dry apply Gellux Fast Bond (£5.85 +vat). Let dry for 30 seconds. Then apply one very thin layer of Gellux Cover Pink Base Coat (£11.95 +vat) and cure for 30 seconds.
Step Two
Apply two coats of Gellux Black Onyx (£11.95 +vat), curing in between layers.
Step Three
Dip a nail art brush into Gellux Purely White (£11.95 +vat), then create the cat silhouettes in random places on each nail, cure.
Step Four
On a paint palette or a piece of foil, mix three small drops with Gellux Holographic No Wipe Top Coat, Gellux Orange A Peel, Gellux Snapshot and Gellux Ghost Train (all £11.95 +vat). Then, using a medium liner brush apply the colours onto the white cat silhouettes overlapping slightly onto the black. Cure for 60 seconds.
Step Five
Finally, apply Gellux Mirror Glaze Top Coat (£11.95 +vat) and cure for 60 seconds. Next wipe the nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe (£7.10 +vat) and apply Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.35 +vat).
Salon System Gellux is available from wholesalers nationwide.
