With the colder months settling in, it is important to still keep skin as hydrated as possible. Oio Lab’s Aquasphere Multi-Dimensional Hydrating Facial Serum (€49.90) will help make the transition from Autumn to Winter easier for you and your client’s skin.  Made in Poland this PETA approved, vegan and cruelty-free facial serum is an advanced, concentrated and multi-level hydrating serum.  The gel-serum ‘fills-in’ the skin’s structure, reduces the appearance of wrinkles, stimulates natural production of hyaluronic acid and prevents water loss – by forming an invisible, protective film on the skin.  Tamarind seed polysaccharides and algae extracts enhance the moisturising, regenerating and plumping effects. The serum has a light, deeply penetrating texture and leaves the skin visibly smoother and brighter.  Perfect to use as a primer under make up.  Available from oiolab.

For the second consecutive year, Trilogy has won a prestigious Allure Best of Beauty Award – the beauty-industry gold standard for consumers and beauty professionals around the world.  This year the win is for Trilogy Rosehip Oil Antioxidant + (£31.50) the ‘Clean Skin’ winning product in the ‘Clean Beauty’ category.  This category acknowledges the growing consumer demand for products without fifteen ingredient classes Allure believes ‘clean’ beauty products should not contain.  The blend of acai seed oil, tomato seed, and cranberry extracts fend off free radicals, while rosehip oil tackles dehydration from environmental stressors.   Available from trilogy.

Keep lips hydrated and happy this autumn/winter with Skin Sapiens natural Lip Balm (£7).  A no-nonsense, vegan skincare brand – who are now stocked at Selfridges as part of The Project Earth Beauty Collection.  Skin Sapiens is a clean skincare brand with a clear conscience – we first saw them at the London Indy Beauty Expo last year.  They believe in minimalism; the fewer ingredients in your products means more control of what you put on your skin and the planet.  They’re all about taking a look at a skincare formula as a whole, rather than just it’s hero ingredients and what it’s free from.  Cosmos certified, vegan and animal friendly, they also donate 1% of each sale to charities fighting for a better planet.  Available from skinsapiens and selfridges.

Cult Aussie self-tan brand Bali Body turned six yesterday.  Vegan and cruelty free, Bali Body products boast rich, nourishing formulas for a smooth, seamless tan and soft, happy skin.  The tan is high-impact, long-lasting and nourishing.  In 2020 so far they have seen sales of their best-selling Ultra Dark Self Tanning Mousse (£25.95) increase by 732% year on year.  To celebrate this milestone they are offering 20% off sitewide.  Available from balibody.

Celeb favourite and Strictly Come Dancing stylist David Fletcher has teamed up with Creative Director Soo Wilkinson to launch a new hair line, Crystal Earth Holistic Hair.  Four years in the making, the first products – in the Seven Chakra Shampoo and Conditioner range – are Rose Quartz Shampoo and Conditioner (£28 each) designed to balance, nourish and breathe life into tired limp hair.  The shampoo contains apple cider vinegar to remove toxins and product build-up and the conditioner is designed to dissolve stress and tension from heat damage, a combination that adds volume to fine hair and leaves it with a weightless shine.  An intoxicating scent of bergamot, jasmine and red berry with undertones of patchouli, sandalwood, amber, musk and moss linger in the hair for days.  Packaged in a beautiful crystal shaped bottle that is 100% recyclable.  Available from rebelbeautybrands.

Red is the signifier for a bold look and this vibrant hue is the perfect shade for Autumn.  Help your clients achieve a fashionable statement with Fudge Professional Headpaint Intense Reds (£5.49).  These come in 3 tones, Copper, Red and Violet all in 3 depths, allowing colourists to create a full spectrum of rich and radiant reds to suit your client’s requirements.  From cosmic coppers and cyclamens to multi-dimensional mahoganies, Headpaint is infused with anti-oxidant-rich pomegranate oil to neutralise protein-destroying free radicals reducing hair porosity and keeping colour locked in to stop fade.  Available from fudgeprofessional.

At the other end of the spectrum OSMO’s latest additions to their Super Silver Range will help blonde and grey clients banish brassy tones and achieve their most vibrant colour yet.  Super Silver Styling Violet Miracle Treatment (£4.68) is formulated with soy protein and Fibre Bond technology to help strengthen and protect the hair cuticle.  This intensely nourishing leave-in treatment is designed to nourish, protect and improve the overall condition of salon lightened hair.  Super Silver Styling Violet Conditioning Foam (£6.40) is a lightweight conditioning foam which helps nourish, repair and restore the hair’s integrity, whilst helping to prevent hair breakage and thermal damage. Industry News

The Hair & Beauty Charity yesterday released a ‘thank you’ film created by the charity’s supporters during lockdown, showcasing how the charity helps those in need.  With the latest government changes being announced and regionalised lockdowns still happening, there are still so many people in our industry needing to know that the charity is there to help them – should they need it.  You can watch the film here.

Faith in Nature has been a leader in the sustainable beauty movement since it was founded in 1974 by natural beauty pioneer Rivka Rose creating ‘green’ cosmetics before it was mainstream and harnessing the power of natural ingredients while looking after the planet that provides them.  Faith in Nature has been using 100% recycled and recyclable bottles since 1999, saving 340 tonnes of plastic from landfill, along with introducing a ‘zero-plastic’ soap and shampoo bar range.  Now the brand are taking the next step to fight plastic pollution by switching to ocean-bound plastic across their core range.  70% of plastic waste is estimated to end up in oceans, where it takes over 400 years to decompose – needless to say, the consequences of plastic pollution are detrimental to fish and marine life.

Ocean-bound reclaimed plastic is collected from rivers and streams to prevent it specifically from entering the ocean.  The plastic is collected by communities stricken by poverty who can earn instant payment for their efforts.

Faith in Nature’s new bottles will no longer be grey but instead pale orange.  Ocean-bound recycled plastic takes its colour from its former life, and no two will be the exactly same.

Faith in Nature is available now from retailers including Holland and Barrett, Boots, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Amazon and faithinnature.
