Body-positive skincare brand, Skin Proud, have conducted extensive consumer research into confidence levels and their links to social media, using filters and our use of beauty products.  When asked why they lacked confidence in their natural skin, nearly 40% claimed this was due to comparing themselves to others, 55% stated they were self-conscious about their appearance and 28% claimed there is pressure to look a certain way.   Whilst 21% claimed that their friend’s appearance has affected their self-confidence, a huge 20% claimed their confidence took a hit based on the appearance of complete strangers.

Born from the idea of accepting your flaws and embracing what makes you you, Skin Proud launched in April, hitting ASOS by storm and selling one product every 7 minutes in the first 24 hours on sale, proving us Brits really do need a skin-loving movement to revamp our frame of mind, not just our skincare routine.
