Our next #WarpaintChallenge makeup competition is #ArtandMakeup and it’s an absolute cracker. Set up and sponsored by award-winning makeup artist Lan Nguyen-Grealis, the challenge runs in conjunction with beauty hygiene experts, The Pro Hygiene Collection. Celebrate the integral connection between art and makeup and be inspired by works of beauty both ancient and modern.
Whether it’s the stark geometry of Picasso or cave paintings of antiquity, the unmade bed of Tracey Emin or the majesty of Michelangelo’s frescos, art takes many and varied forms. Use your accompanying mood board to illustrate the inspiration behind your entry and take our judge along with you on your journey of creation.
For the lucky winner, we’ve put together this incredible prize worth over £500. Consisting of a one-to-one Zoom makeup lesson from Lan herself; a Revolution Pro x Lan Nguyen palette; a signed copy of her book ProMakeup Design; an original piece of Lan’s own artwork; along with £150 worth of much needed PPE and products from The Pro Hygiene Collection.
Internationally renowned for her fashion and editorial work, Lan has published two books, created her own Ultimate Artist Palette, guest judged the debut series of BBC 3’s Glow Up, and is also the youngest winner of the Golden Mask Award for Makeup Art.
Rules
No animal inspired art
Makeup can be on the face or full body, but if it’s just on the face thought must be put into what you are wearing to complement your interpretation of the theme.
Up to three photos/videos must be submitted; with at least one full-length and one head and shoulders.
You must also post an image of your supporting mood board. Entries submitted without a mood board will be disqualified. Post these on your wall; if you post them in Stories they will have expired before the judging.
Tag @lanslondon, @theprohygienecollection and @warpaint_mag in your entries – in the photo(s) as well as the caption.
This must be new work created specifically for this competition.
Just be creative and – most importantly – have fun!
Terms and Conditions
The challenge is being run on Instagram. Submissions must be created on yourself or someone you share your home or support bubble with. Cosmetic products only are to be used – no craft paints, craft glitters, etc. Submissions can be photos, video or both but these must be good quality so the judge can see the details clearly.
The judge is Lan Nguyen-Grealis and her decision is final. Prize is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative. International entries are welcome but you will be responsible for any import duties or custom charges that may be payable if you win. Closing date is 12 noon BST on Friday 24th July 2020. The winner will be announced on Instagram w/c 26th July 2020.
