We all need a touch of sparkle at the moment so Salon System nail expert Jaz Moger has created this glitzy design using Gellux and we’re sharing the step by step with you.
If you don’t have Gellux products to hand then you can substitute them for others. If you are using non-gel polish, remember to use a good base coat and to let each coat set fully before moving on to the next step.
Step One
Start by prepping the nails by filing the nails to a round shape. Push back the cuticle using the Salon System Cuticle Handy Manicure Tool (£4.95+vat) and remove the cuticle using the Gellux Erase Cuticle Remover (£4.55+vat) and cuticle clippers. Buff the nail plate and cleanse nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe (£4.35+vat). Apply Gellux Fast Bond (£5.85+vat) followed by one coat of Gellux Cover Pink Base Coat (£11.95+vat) and cure for 60 seconds
Step Two
Using a fine liner brush, randomly paint thin ‘wiggly’ lines of Gellux Purely White (£11.95+vat) along the nail, don’t cure.
Step Three
Dip a slightly bigger nail art brush into some Gellux Acetone (£3.10+vat) and lightly dab the brush along the white line. The acetone will cause the line to ‘bleed’ a little. Once you have done this to every line, cure for 30 seconds.
Step Four
Next, mix an equal amount of Gellux Sweetie Pie (£11.95+vat) in with Gellux Clear Base and Top Coat (£11.95+vat), (you want it to be sheer enough to see the white lines through) and paint a section randomly onto each nail, don’t cure.
Step Five
Repeat the last step with Gellux Butterfly Blue (£11.95+vat). Mixing it with the Gellux Clear Base and Top Coat (£11.95+vat) once again sheer enough to see the white lines. Don’t cure.
Step Six
Continue to do the same with Gellux Vividly Violet (£11.95+vat) and Gellux Ghost Train (£11.95+vat). Once, all of the colours are on and blended well together, cure for 60 seconds to make it slightly tacky.
Step Seven
Add some glitter flakes randomly onto each nail. The nails will now be looking very ‘quartz’ like. Once you are happy with this, apply a coat of Gellux Clear Base and Top Coat (£11.95+vat) and cure for 30 seconds.
Step Eight
Once cured, wipe over the nails with Gellux Acetone (£3.10+vat). Apply Gellux Stick-It-Glue (£1.35+vat) around the edge of the nail and dab gold foil onto the glue.
Step Nine
To finish the look, apply a coat of Gellux Shiny Top Coat (£11.95+vat), cure and then wipe over with Gellux Prep + Wipe (£7.10+vat). Finally, finish by applying Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.35+vat).
Salon System Gellux is available from wholesalers nationwide.
