It’s okay – we know it’s Thursday really, but every day is pretty much the same at the moment, right? Salon System nail expert Karen Louise created this great design using Gellux and we’re sharing the step by step with you.
If you don’t have Gellux products to hand then you can substitute them for others. If you are using non-gel polish, remember to use a good base coat and to let each coat set fully before moving on to the next step.
Step One
First start by prepping the nails by pushing back the cuticle using the Salon System Cuticle Handy Manicure Tool (£4.50+vat), file to shape and gently buff the nail using the Salon System Turbo Buffer (£1.35+vat). Remove excess dust and wipe with Gellux Prep & Wipe (£7.10+vat). Using Gellux Fast Bond (£5.85+vat), apply to the nails and let dry. Apply Gellux Easy Off Base Coat (£11.95+vat), and cure.
Step Two
Next apply a thin coat of Gellux Stormy (£7.25+vat) to the nails making sure to cap the edges and cure. Repeat this process for the second layer.
Step Three
The next step is to take a small sponge and apply small strokes of Gellux Silver Chrome Mirror Powder (£12.20+vat) randomly over all the nails.
Step Four
Using the smallest point of a dotting tool, on your index finger apply Gellux Secret Service (£11.95+vat) and create your leopard print pattern. Then, using Gellux Picture Perfect – Freeze Frame (£11.95+vat) apply a small dot inside. Then flash cure.
Step Five
On your middle finger, use a fine stripping brush to create your zebra print pattern. Use Gellux Picture Perfect – Freeze Frame to create half the zebra print design. Then, use Gellux Secret Service to create an ombre zebra print pattern. Then, flash cure.
Step Six
With your dotting tool, use Gellux Secret Service to create your cow print pattern on the ring finger and flash cure.
Step Seven
On your pinky, create your cheetah pattern down one side of the nail (the cheetah pattern will be similar to the leopard print but, a lot smaller and closer together). Then, flash cure.
Step Eight
On the thumb nail create a small ombre effect. Using Gellux Picture Perfect – Freeze Frame blend from the tip to the centre of the nail. Then, flash cure for 10 seconds. Now using your fine detailing brush, create your tiger stripes from the edges or the nails towards the centre.
Step Nine
Finally, cure all the nails completely. Apply Gellux Mirror Glaze Top Coat (£11.95+vat) for high shine making sure to cap the edges and cure. Wipe over with the Gellux Prep & Wipe and apply Gellux Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.35+vat).
Salon System Gellux is available from wholesalers nationwide.
