As most of us can’t get to the beach right now, we bring the ocean to your nails courtesy of Salon System nail expert Julie-Anne.
She created this fabulous design using Gellux and we’re sharing the step by step with you.
If you don’t have Gellux products to hand then you can substitute them for others. If you are using non-gel polish, remember to use a good base coat and to let each coat set fully before moving on to the next step.
Step One
Prepare the nails and wipe over with the GELLUX Prep + Wipe (£7.10+VAT). Apply the GELLUX Fast Bond (£5.85+VAT) and let dry for 30 seconds. Then apply the GELLUX Cover Pink Base (£11.95+VAT), and cure for 30 sec (LED).
Step Two
Next, apply two coats of GELLUX Purely White (£11.95+VAT), curing in between each layer for 30 seconds (LED).
Step Three
Apply a very thin layer of GELLUX Easy Off Base Coat (£11.95+VAT), do not cure.
Step Four
On a piece of foil or a paint palette, place side by side lines of GELLUX Butterfly Blue (£11.95+VAT), GELLUX Mermaid (£11.95+VAT) and GELLUX Lucky Dip (£11.95+VAT). Using a fine liner brush lightly marble these together, making sure not to over mix as you still want to see each colour individually.
Step Five
Using a flat gel brush pick up a small amount of your marbled colours. Place the back of the brush onto the nail and gently drag it away. The marble should start blooming slowly. Repeat for all nails, and then cure for 60 seconds (LED).
Step Six
Using the GELLUX Black Onyx (£11.95+VAT) and a fine liner brush, create some squiggly, wavy lines in random areas of the nails, then add a swerved line with small leaves, cure for 60 seconds (LED).
Step Seven
Finally apply the GELLUX Mirror Glaze Top Coat, (£11.95+VAT) and cure for 60-90 seconds (LED). Next wipe the nails with GELLUX Prep + Wipe and GELLUX Nail & Cuticle Oil (£4.35 + VAT).
