This weekend sees Chinese New Year, with the start of the Year of the Rat, being celebrated on Saturday 25th January. There are some limited-edition products available, reimagined in deep red and gold to celebrate the lunar new year.
Guerlain Meteorites Light-Revealing Pearls of Powder Chinese New Year Edition (£45) is an illuminating and mattifying finishing powder that will brighten the complexion. The extra soft Meteorites powder instantly blurs the appearance of small imperfections and sets foundation with a sheer and weightless finish that feels barely there. Skin appears perfected with a naturally radiant look and feel. Each pastel shade sphere is infused with the delicate fragrance of violet for a truly luxurious experience each time it is applied. Available from guerlain and escentual.
Givenchy Prisme Libre Mat-finish & Enhanced Radiance Loose Powder Mousseline Pastel Chinese New Year Edition (£41) is a limited-edition design of the powder icon dressed up in a gorgeous red 4G design to celebrate the Year of the Rat. It is a fusion of four universally flattering shades that will unify and perfect the complexion. Working together, green will help to counteract any redness, blue will assist with combatting orange tones, purple will combat dullness and white will help to brighten and awaken the skin. After use the complexion will appear radiant, even and smooth. Give the limited-edition Prisme Libre a little shake to blend the shades together and use the included powder puff with matching red ribbon to distribute it evenly across the face. Available from givenchy and escentual.

SkinSapiens is a brand we noticed at the Indie Beauty Expo in October and they launched their products this week. The company started in Madrid; the founders had worked in the business themselves and wanted to create a product suitable for their newborn baby’s skin. As well as only using natural ingredients, the company are committed to transparency and list every single ingredient on their packaging in descending order. Their mission is to make skin care products with as few ingredients as possible and without a negative effect on the environment. To that end they are proud to be part of 1% for the Planet – a global movement inspiring businesses and individuals to support environmental solutions. Products are available from 21 January from skinsapiens. The range includes facial cleansing gel (£7), lipbalm (£7) face cream (£12) and baby lotion (£14).
