We know Christmas isn’t all about the food, but, well… It’s one of our favourite parts! Maybe this year Santa won’t be the only one to find something delicious under the tree: Too Faced’s sweet treats this year includes the gorgeous Gingerbread Extra Spicy Palette (£39), which boasts warm tones just perfect for creating a sultry Christmas smoulder. Paired with their iconic Melted Matte liquid lipstick in the shade Gingerbread Girl (£19), you’ll have a party look that simply oozes cinnamon… Oops, we mean sophistication! If gingerbread isn’t your thing (more for us!), how about some glamorous glosses in Better Not Pout But If You Do, Keep It Glossy (£22)? With scents that match their pretty names, the limited edition shades Peppermint Bark, Eggnog, Sugar Plum and Spice Cake pretty much guarantee you a smooch under the mistletoe.
Cherubs, reindeer, and baubles abound, but we fancy something special on our Christmas trees this year. Add a touch of drama to your day with Too Faced’s Damn Girl! mascara ornament (£12), which will leave your heart – and your lashes – all aflutter. For something slightly more risque, opt for the infamous Better Than Sex mascara bauble (£12), whose candycane packaging and tempting lengths make Christmas day extra special. Need something to complement your lips as well? Try the Pretty Little Present (£14), which pairs the brand’s classic Better Than Sex mascara with a Rich & Dazzling Lip Gloss in Sunset Crush. We suppose a little pouting is permitted!
For something a little more relaxation-oriented, reach for one of REN’s adorable hanging baubles. Relax and unwind with the Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil Stocking Filler (£10), or ensure you get a good night’s sleep after all the excitement of the day with the Silent Nights Stocking Filler (£12). Our favourite, though, has to be the All Is Bright Stocking Filler (£10), which contains a mini version of REN’s iconic Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic. Your face will be merry and bright – come to think of it, we might be tempted to crack this one open on Christmas Eve.
We think present opening should last the whole day – so why not jazz up your Christmas cracker selection this year, and do away with the old plastic paperclip offerings? MOR’s gilted crackers (£9 each) contain a luxurious hand cream, so you can pamper your digits after a long day of wrapping – we know you did it all the night before! We think Beautiful Bohemienne might be our favourite scent option – floral and citrus, it reminds us of warmer days. Besides, the packaging is a beautiful festive red!
For something a little darker, Kat Von D’s vegan Love Big or Go Home table crackers (£20) pair her bestselling Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovecraft – a flattering everyday nude – with her long wear, extreme volume Go Big or Go Home mascara.
Meanwhile, the heartwarming illustrations on the Polaar packaging have us hooked – and that’s even without the products themselves! Combining three arctic berries, the Genuine Lapland Hand Cream Bauble (£7) makes for an adorable secret santa, while the Night Revitalizing Cream Bauble (£22) might just end up on our tree instead! Boreal algae activates cellular renewal, so you’ll wake up feeling regenerated. Just in time for the Doctor Who Christmas Special, too! If you’re after something with a bit more substance, Polaar’s crackers have it in the bag: the Essentials Cracker (£25) combines everything you need for a wintry pamper session, while the Lapland Cracker (£16) contains products designed to strengthen your skin against the harsh winter weather.
Growing up in the ’90s, we all adored Hilary Duff, and while we’d likely long for anything with her name on it, this collaboration with NUDESTIX really has us swooning. The Daydreamer Palette (£70) is comprised of everything Hilary and NUDESTIX believe will swish you from day to night in the blink of an eye. True to form, many of the products are multi-taskers: we’d sweep dusty pink Body Language over our cheeks and eyes for a rosy, editorial take that would look fab from cocktails to Christmas party.
Those obsessed with Kat Von D’s cult Lolita shade will know that the chestnut rose colour has gone from strength to strength. This winter, treat someone to the Lolita Por Vida Eyeshadow Palette (£45), which combines matte, shimmer, and special effect finishes in a complementary range of warm golds and warm reds. There’s even an all-new super-glitter shade, which might come in handy over New Year’s Eve…
Know someone who wants to explore skincare a bit more in depth? Or who cares about the ocean? Or who appreciates gorgeous artwork? Clean beauty brand REN has you covered. Their selection of Christmas gifts covers all bases: introduce a younger sister to clean beauty with the Face Favourites set (£35), or give a coworker the gift of glow with the Get the Glow set (£20). We think the Clean Mask Trio (£22) would make for a brilliant girl’s night in, while the Mini Body Kit (£19) or Moroccan Rose Otto Body Duo (£39) allow a special someone to relax and indulge. Whichever you choose, the set will come artfully decorated, as REN teamed up with renowned illustrator Silken Favour to pay homage to the ocean and its multitude of creatures. Plus, this way you can look after yourself whilst looking after the planet: the boxes are all 100% recyclable and the bottles are made from reclaimed ocean plastic. Win, win!
If you’re hoping you can skip the gift wrap this year, reach for Rituals: the simple, chic packaging on their gift sets means you can buy and gift within minutes. Choose a scent – our favourites include the energising Happy Buddha and the renewing Ritual of Sakura – and a size option ( small (£20.90), medium (£29.90), large (£39.90) or XL (£69.90) ) and you’re sure to have one very happy recipient, no matter your relationship.
Another option that goes heavy on the decor is Evolve: these adorable sets are decked out in rich colours and flecked with gold – talk about festive! The Hydrate, Glow, and Nourish Stocking Fillers (£12) are sure to cause a stir on Christmas morning, and contain fan favourites Hyaluronic Serum, Radiant Glow Mask, and Daily Renew Facial Cream respectively. If you’re up for treating someone to a range of options, why not go for one of the bigger sets? The Candlelight Glow Collection (£34) teams the indulgently chocolatey Radiant Glow Mask with a Serenity Candle, designed to help you unwind after that hectic festive fun! The Exotic Winter Warming Duo (£34), meanwhile, teams a Tropical Blossom Body Polish with the Tropical Blossom Body Butter, which buff and polish your skin to a smooth, glossy finish. You won’t be able to resist getting your legs out, freezing temperatures or no freezing temperatures!
Have a few parties to attend this holiday season? Who doesn’t – and we feel like getting our sparkle on! One of our favourite ways this year is to indulge in a rose gold ritual, courtesy of Sanctuary Spa. Create a true sanctuary pre-party with the shimmering bath salts (£16) and bath elixir (£12), smooth the Shimmer Luxe Body Butter (£14) on limbs, and press the Precious Glow Body Oil (£14) along your collarbones for a party look that’s anything but understated.
Were you wishing for a Budapest city break this Christmas? We’ve got the next best thing: Omorovicza’s Hungary-inspired range oozes sophistication and class, and most importantly harnesses hugely potent ingredients! Start your day off right with the adorable Omorovicza Stars bauble (£22), which contains minis of their cult classic Queen of Hungary Mist and Cleansing Foam. For a more luxe take on the brand, check out the Replenish & Restore Collection (£95), which teams hydrating Omoressence with the luxe Bukuchiol-powered Miracle Facial Oil and Rejuvenating Night Cream. You’ll be top of someone’s nice list!
Meeting a special someone under the mistletoe? Invest in one of Dear Dahlia’s outrageously beautiful lipsticks. Both the Lip Paradise Intense Satin (£28) and the Paradise Dream Velvet Lip Mousses (£25) are vegan, cruelty-free and 8-free, as well as being packed full of conditioning, food-grade ingredients. Plus, they look unbeatably chic on your bedside table…
For luxurious, green skincare, look no further than Green People. Their affordable sets make gift-giving easy, and the gold-flecked packaging looks just adorable under the tree! Whether you’re after a superfood-packed haircare treat (try the quinoa-powered Super Naturals Gift Set (£10) ) or just want to embrace the eco-friendly with the Everyday Organics Gift Set (£15), these pressies make Christmas – and saving the planet – a breeze. There’s even something for the man in your life: the three-step Grooming Ritual Gift Set (£15) unites products designed to prep, shave and hydrate his skin to prevent grooming irritation.
Don’t get us wrong, we adore Green People – but if you’re looking for something a little more luxe, and potentially a little more grown up, it’s imperative you check out their new range, Age Defy+ by Cha Vøhtz. Tailored specifically for skin 35+, this indulgent range is chock full of nourishing ingredients, and completely devoid of a long list of nasties, just like the rest of Green People’s products. We’re hard-pressed to choose favourites, but if we had to, we’d say the Soft Buff Skin Exfoliator (£23) coupled with the Hydra-Glow Sleep Mask (£32) is a truly remarkable combo that leaves skin smooth, soft and glowing – overnight! Then, of course, there’s the Ultimate Wonder Balm (£32), which really does leave you wondering – where has this been all my life? Smooth onto chapped lips, use as a cleansing balm, hydrate under the eyes… Is there anything this thing can’t do?
Going back to the issue of what to get our boyfriends/dads/brothers/housemates for Christmas – really, who knows what to buy men?! – Men-ü have developed a range of shaving products that are designed to reduce waste whilst being incredible quality. Whether you opt for the Men-ü Shave Creme Gift Pack (£19.95), which should cover around 300 shaves, or the Men-ü Selection Box Grooming Essentials (£24.95), which offers a brilliant introduction to the world of quality shaving, just know that your bathroom will be filled with the uplifting scent of black pepper and bergamot from now on…
Talking of party season, we reckon it’s likely that we’ll have to cheat our way to wide-awake eyes on at least a few occasions in the near future! Luckily, we know of two fantastic eye cream options to keep us looking doe-eyed and fresh. Filorga’s Oxygen Glow Eyes (£17) blends soft-focus creators and brightening pearl particles that not only mean it revitalises your sleepy eyes, but can even be used in place of highlighter, too! Meanwhile, MGC Derma’s slightly fancier offering – CBD Stem Cells & Peptides Eye Cream (£65) promises to protect the skin from inflammation thanks to the magic of resveratrol – which, we might add, can also be found in wine… Packed with a plethora of cell-renewing ingredients, this eye cream works to boost collagen production and increase hydration, leaving you looking as if you’d gone to bed at midnight – and lost a few years! Go on, then, we will have that last glass of prosecco…
