Celebrating its 22nd year last month, the World Bodypainting Festival rolled back into Klagenfurt at Lake Wörthersee in Austria from 11th to 13th July 2019 and crowned a new generation of World Champion artists. Individuals artist and teams from 50 countries battled it out over six hours categories in front of the international Judging Panel and showed their skills to the thousands of visitors.

Brush and Sponge
With a theme of Clean Mind – Clean Planet, the Brush and Sponge category was once again particularly strong. The winner was Tera Bakker from the Netherlands, second place went to Francesa Cavicchio from Italy and Silke Kirchhoff of Germany was third.

Airbrush
In the Airbrush category, victory went to the only artist who could win this category three times in a row – Benoit Bottala. Benoit of Guadeloupe wowed the jury as well as the audience. Second place went to Yulia Vlasova of Russia and third place to Emanuele Borello from Italy.

Special Effects Bodypainting
The winner in the hugely spectacular category of Special Effects Bodypainting was Swedish competitor, Vilija Vitkute, with Gabi Hajek-Renner of Austria taking second and Gloria Bordin from Italy in third.

After Hours
After the intense days of artistic creation, hundreds of models, artists and thousands of visitors celebrated to the beats of Conchita Wurst, LEFTBOY and many more.
