Created in 2002 by founder, Dany Sanz, the Make Up For Ever Academy is a world leader in artist education, devising a wide array of intensive training courses. Students on the 10-month Master Program in Beauty to Stage and Body Art finalise their year with an in-depth showcase of their skills culminating with a photographic exhibition of their best pieces. Warpaint heads to France to meet this year’s new graduates and catch up with Academy Director, Karen Williams, to find out more.
Headquartered in Paris, the courses cover every aspect you’d need to become industry ready and are split into two distinct areas – Beauty/Fashion and TV/Cinema each with their own training centre. A variety of programs are on offer from three days to 13 months long, intended for professionals and newbies alike in the beauty and entertainment sectors or anyone else seeking to learn the principles of make-up or perfect their skills in a particular area.
“At the Make Up For Ever Academy, we have a global and international education vision,” Williams explains. “We look to provide adapted programs along with an inspirational learning philosophy to meet the challenges of interacting, in particular with the younger generation. In our Academies, our aspiring makeup artists learn not only the core techniques in Beauty and Artistry Makeup, we also confront them with the real world as much as possible through networking, internships, classes with numerous in-the-field makeup artists, etc. Education is an ever-changing process and it is key to stay tuned to what is happening in the makeup artist world in order to remain relevant for our students and their future career in this field.”
