The popularity of face masks has exploded recently, with the Korean sheet masks being adopted and adapted by many brands. In this feature we have a look at new releases from a range of makers and to fit any budget.
Celebrity MUA Trish McEvoy has added the Hydrate and Glow Dry Sheet Mask (£22) to her range of skin products that complement the make-up line. This is from the Instant Solutions range and promises to dramatically hydrate, plump, smooth and lift the look of skin within 15 minutes.
The mask is individually reactive and delivers concentrated waves of hyaluronic acid, peptides and antioxidants to the skin, and time-release technology continues to deliver tailored doses throughout the day. Unusually this is a dry formula mask, and is 94% active, compared with wet masks that are 85% water. It is also mess free so you can stay mobile while wearing it. Each mask can be used up to 3 times on clean skin, and the recommended usage is up to 3 times per week, depending on your skin’s needs.
Available online and in store at Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Liberty London.
Rex London stock a range of single-use fun rayon masks (£3.95) that they source in Korea. These feature a number of animals on the packaging as well as on the mask itself.
You can choose from Happy Mouse Moisturising Mask, Hello Tiger Firming Mask and Cute Panda Brightening Mask. Skin care certainly doesn’t need to be dull!
Available on line from rexlondon.
Skin care gurus Murad have added the Hydro-Glow Aqua Peel sheet mask (£40 for 4 treatments) to the range. This is a two-step system, giving a gentle peel with anti-ageing benefits with a hydrating infusion to visible minimise fine lines and wrinkles while retexturising and brightening skin to reveal a youthful glow. Clinical results showed a 400% boost in hydration could be achieved.
First use the pre-soaked retexturising swab to exfoliate with glycolic and lactic acids and then apply the moisture infusion sheet mask for 15-20 minutes to deliver hyaluronic acid, aloe extract and vitamin B3 to the skin to minimise lines and wrinkles and lock in moisture.
Available from murad, spas and salons nationwide, and selected John Lewis, House of Fraser and Debenhams stores,
masqueBAR, an expert in Korean skin care, have just added two watermelon-infused sheet masks (£4.99 each) to their Hallyu range.
The single Sheet Mask will cool, hydrate and revive the complexion. The fabric mask also has a watermelon printed on, to add to that selfie fun.
The Jelly Mask is a two-part sheet mask with a clear hydro gel to refresh, hydrate and moisturise. The two-part design makes it really easy to apply.
Available exclusively at Superdrug.
Skin Republic have a huge range of sheet masks for men as well as women – and not just for the face. You can choose from hands and feet as well. Each mask features natural plant extracts to leave skin feeling nourished and youthful with no mess.
For Men Energising Face Sheet Mask (£4.99) comes in two sections, one each for the top and bottom of the face and will help reboot your skin. The design works well for those with beards as it can be placed over the top and can also be used as a great post-shave treatment. This mask is perfect for men who are concerned about tired, dry skin and the on-set of wrinkles as it contains wrinkle-fighting CoQ10, vitamin E and smoothing vitamin C. Skin will be cooled and hydrated, so after just 20 minutes the face will feel refreshed and reborn.
Available from skinrepublic and superdrug.
24K Gold Hand Mask (£6.99) is a luxurious 24K gold hand mask infused with a powerful blend of plant extracts for supreme-softness. Warming thermotherapy technology helps rejuvenate dry, mature skin. Rose oil helps replenish skin’s antioxidants, leaving hands rejuvenated and delicately scented. The dual-layered gloves are soaked in serum to give hands an intensive repairing treatment. Added bonus? The gloves are touchscreen (and selfie) friendly!

The latest collection from Oh K! – the Jeju Edit – takes inspiration from the botanically diverse Island off South Korea. The range includes masks for skin and hair. You may want to stock up on these as the summer approaches.
Oh K! Anti Jet Lag Sheet Mask (£5) is packed with skin-loving ingredients to rejuvenate tired skin from the effects of jet lag. Hyaluronic acid hydrates for a plumper-looking appearance, while amino acids, vitamin B3 and sea kelp extracts help the skin look brighter and more youthful. The unique fabric texture of the sheet itself channels the ingredients to the skin, while helping to minimise evaporation of the key ingredients – hyaluronic acid, antioxidant rich tomato and oat to soothe skin and fight inflammation.

Oh K! After Sun Face & Neck Sheet Mask (£5) is packed with soothing chamomile and nourishing aloe to help tone down redness after a day in the heat.
