As it’s Easter we start with more fabulous chocolate-themed goodies – this time the Chocolate Factory Collection from Misslyn.   You can indulge your sweet tooth and create amazing eye and eyebrow looks for your clients at the same time.  The collection has a colour theme ranging from milk to dark chocolates, in really cute packaging with chocolate bar designs.  The Chocolate Brow Duo Eyebrow Powder (£8.75) has two highly pigmented colours which create a unique shade when blended together.  Comes in light, medium and dark chocolate.  The perfume-free Must Have Eyeshadow Shades (£11.30) are ten coordinated tones.  These matte shades can be combined and provide good coverage and blendabiilty to create a classic look with burgundy and brown tones.  Available from beautybay and selected Primark stores.



Bobbi Brown have launched two limited edition Infra-Red and Ultra-Violet eyeshadow palettes (£36.50 each).  Infra-Red captures smouldering heat and dazzling light, with bold exuberant colours.  The shades can be mixed and matched to create an energetic and fiery look for your client to blaze through the night.  Ultra-Violet contains a spectrum of purple tones, ranging from translucent to smokey that embody the cosmic energy of this shade.  Purple is the new nude, so add a pop of colour to your client’s look.  Available from bobbibrown.



Kat Von D Beauty have launched the Go Big or Go Home Mascara (£20) this week.  An extreme volume vegan mascara with ultra-long wear, powered by plant-based fats.  This gives mega volume and intense lashes that last without smudging, flaking or clumping.  The nourishing waxes from olive and sunflower oils replace beeswax, typically found in most mascaras.  The signature fluff brush, inspired by a round bristle hairbrush, creates a super volumized, blown-out look for your client’s lashes.  Available online and instore from debenhams.

W7 Cosmetics have added more products to their celebrated Very Vegan range, all certified by the Vegan Society.  Newest additions include: the Naughty by Nature Eyeshadow Palette (£14.95) 12 super blendable matt and shimmer shades in warm nudes; Natural Glow Liquid Highlighters (£5.95) in three shades that can be used on the face and body; a six-piece Eco Brush Set (£14.95) and Cream Contour Kits (£8.95) available in fair and medium.  Every product in the range is created in a kitchen and manufactured in a factory that are not at risk of cross-contamination from products that may contain animal by-products or are not cruelty-free.  Available now from w7cosmetics, The Perfume Shop and TK Maxx.




OPV Beauty have released new Loose Setting Powders (£16).  These will mattify, set and conceal the appearance of pores, allowing you to create a flawless base for your client.  Available in three shades – deep, medium and translucent – they will suit all skin tones.   The finely milled powder can be used to set and create full coverage, or used alone for a sheer wash of colour.  Skin is left matte but not flat, due to the latest technology – caking, chalkiness or settling into fine lines are a thing of the past.  Available from opvbeauty, prettylittlething and beautybay.



BarryM have added 10 new shades of their ever-popular All Night Long Liquid Foundation (£7.99).  The range now encompasses 25 versatile tones to suit all undertones and complexions making it easier to get the perfect match.  The paraben-free, party-proof formula is packed with antioxidents, fruit extracts and vitamin E.  It is a light-weight, buildable formula to blur away imperfections.  The ten new shades are available exclusively from barrym.  The rest of the range is in Superdrug and in selected Boots stores.

Carter Beauty have launched the Apollo Mini Bronzer Palette (£8.50).  Giving a sun-kissed look, this is perfect to gear up for warmer weather.  A mix of matte and shimmering brown shades will add instant colour and depth to your client’s face.  Available from selected Primark stores and on-line from carterbeautycosmetics.

MAC are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their iconic Viva Glam lipstick by recreating Ru Paul’s campaign with model Winnie Harlow.  For 25 years the brand have been raising funds to battle against HIV and AIDS.  To date, over $500m has been raised.  Winnie says:

I was inspired to recreate the original Viva Glam campaign after my hairdresser, Jay Brumant, showed me the beautiful images.  Working in fashion, I’m surrounded by many types of beauty, and I strongly feel that the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community are both prominent & embraced in the fashion world.  I remember being invited to my first Vogue Ball.  It was invigorating to see so many people from different walks of life come together and celebrate themselves freely.  Ever since then, I have loved & always wanted to try to recreate a “drag moment”.  I knew that if I was ever going to attempt it I would need to embrace an ICONIC look!  Who is more iconic than RuPaul in the MAC Viva Glam campaign?  So when I was in full “regalia” post Adam Burrell’s make-up magic, my friend & New York photographer, Gabriel Perez Silva, helped me recreate the images, and that’s how this costume came to be!  I’m so honoured to follow in the footsteps of amazing artists like Lady Gaga, Elton John, and Ru celebrating Viva Glam’s 25th Anniversary alongside raising awareness for the MAC Viva Glam.
