Melanie Mills is an Emmy Award winning celebrity makeup artist and one of Hollywood’s select leading makeup and beauty professionals.  She’s also the creator of one of the sparkliest products on the market, Gleam Body Radiance.  If there’s one thing to have in your kit on the run up to the party season, this is it.

It must have been eight years ago when Gleam and Melanie Mills first came into the Warpaint spotlight.  A mutual friend had been over to LA to visit and came back with the prototype, and the office went wild for it.  Originally developed for the performers on Dancing with the Stars which Melanie headed up from Seasons 3 to 13, it’s gone from strength to strength, spawning a line of complementary glow products and available across the world.

With more than 20 years’ experience, Melanie’s work ranges across film, TV, editorial and stage, as well as her time from 2007 as Department Head Makeup Artist on ABC’s Television’s Global Phenomenon: Dancing With The Stars.  She works on a host of A listers and is also the author of the best-selling makeup book, ‘Glitter and Glam’, published by Penguin Press in 2014.

Her family’s background in performance helped her to define the show’s look and, as quoted by our favourite US title Allure Magazine, brought back the Hollywood glamour, mixing up her own recipe body makeup not available on the market – and Gleam Body Radiance was born.  The all-in-one body makeup, moisturiser and glow for face and body was an instant hit with the show’s dancers and the wider public.

Melanie aims to offer high quality, multicultural products that are easy to use for that everyday woman and allow star quality to be every day for every woman.  “On Dancing, I struggled to find a product that didn’t stain or transfer, and I had to spend a lot of time fixing up problems.  Some self-tanners were very orange, others left weird streaks and I needed a body makeup that would cover, smooth out tone and imperfections, and hydrate the skin.  I tried everything on the market and ended up making my own.”

Hands on from the offset, Melanie’s own original mixture has grown into a 3-step system for face and body.  “I wanted it to be good for the skin and put in lots of great ingredients like Vitamin E, and aloe vera, jojoba oil, tea extract, skin tightener and wrinkle filler.  It’s free from parabens, sulphates, cruelty, gluten and fragrance, and is 100% vegan certified by PETA and Leaping Bunny.”

Not waterproof as that would compromise the health aspects, it will however stay put for a quick dip and dries down to a beautiful finish.  It comes in six shades that suit every skin tone and for extra lock can be paid with Gleam Body Sealing Spray (£35).  Available in Opalescence, Peach Deluxe, Disco Gold, Rose Gold, Bronze Gold & Deep Gold, in 30 ml, £14 and 100ml £36 from and  You can also pick up the On the Go kits with minis for travel.
