Renowned for their education as well as their products, the team from Kryolan UK has been beavering away on their Halloween designs and we’re thrilled to be able to share two fantastically spooky Step by Steps for you.
First up is the scariest Flapper Girl you’ve ever encountered.
An equal ratio of Artex in parts ‘A’ and ‘B’ is thoroughly mixed together before being smoothed onto the neck. The edges are blended using the Make-up Mixing Spatula. The centre of the Artex is shaped and manipulated, creating the wound. Perfect Matt is applied over the application to reduce the shine before the colour detail is applied from the Cream Color Circle in ‘Bruise’.
The hairs of the brows are coated with Hydro Spirit Gum and brushed flat to the skin. Cine-Wax is blended into the surface of the hairs smoothing the texture. Shimmering Event Foundation in ‘Pearl’ is then applied all over the face before Dermacolor Camouflage Creme, mixed with Make-up Blend, is buffed in, lightening the skin complexion. The brow area is then set with Dermacolor Fixing Powder.
HD Micro Finish Powder is pressed in with a Premium Powder Puff to set. Glamour Glow is applied in ‘Pale Tan’ and ‘Icy Blush’ as highlighter on the high points of the face. Eye Shadow Matt in ‘Oak’ and ‘Charcoal’ are blended under the cheekbones, into the hairline and around the chin creating contour. Eye Shadow Matt in ‘Eggplant’ is used to add a deep blush to the cheeks and contours.
HD Cream Liner in ‘Ebony’ is applied to the eyelid and blended underneath the bottom lashes. Eye Shadow Matt in ‘Charcoal’ is worked into the inner corners of the eye socket. Satin Powder in ‘BG’ is applied into the socket line before Eye Shadow Matt in ‘Eggplant’ concentrates on the outer corners and bottom lash line. The brows are drawn using HD Cream Liner in ‘Ebony’. Apply Eyelashes.
Glamour Glow in ‘Pale Tan’ is blended in under the eyebrows, once the HD Cream Liner has completely dried, creating a soft highlight. The lips are defined and accentuated with Faceliner ‘32’. To achieve the perfect shade, Lip Stain in ‘Classic’ and ‘Ska’ are mixed together and painted onto the lips. High Gloss in ‘Crystal Rose’ is sparingly pressed over the top creating a soft sheen finish.
To add depth to the wound, Fresh Scratch in ‘Old-Oil’ is layered into the indented parts of the Artex. Supreme Blood External in ‘Dark’ is first dripped into the wound and allowed to run out and down the neck. Using the end of a brush it is then flicked on the face and neck. Some areas are deliberately smeared with the fingers to create different impressions of texture.
Next up is the Killer Clown. Be prepared to be scared.
The brows are coated in Pros-Aide – The Original, brushed the opposite way to the natural direction of the hair, then flattened. The texture is smoothed over with Cine-Wax and blended into the surrounding skin. Cine-Wax is set by pressing HD Micro Finish Powder over the area. TV Paint Stick in ‘Alabaster’ is then concentrated over the top and applied to accentuate the appearance of a raised brow bone.
The rest of the face is primed using Ultra Underbase. TV Paint Stick in ‘Alabaster’ creates a pale complexion, masking and neutralizing any redness. Eye Shadow Matt in ‘Congo’ is blended in below the cheekbones, jawbone and into the temples. Eye Shadow Matt in ‘Sudan’ is applied over the top into the areas where the deepest point of the contour is desired to create a hollow effect.
Using theatrical techniques, the face is aged to define the character. Supracolor in ‘101’ is applied into the natural lines and recesses on the face. The depth of the lines varies, to give the impression of wrinkles. Supracolor in ‘070’ is then used to create highlight, this is blended in above the darker details to give a three-dimensional effect. Use powder to set.
Supracolor in ‘517’ is blended on the eyelids and under the bottom lash line. Supracolor in ‘510’ is then extended out from this to cover the entire socket in an uneven application. Graphic lines are drawn vertically out from the top and bottom of the eye, set using combinations of Eye Shadow Matt in ‘RB36’, ‘Night Blue’, ‘Deep Black’ and ‘Thunderstorm’. HD Cream Liner in ‘Ebony’ is applied into the water line.
Supracolor ‘079’ is painted onto the nose and applied over the lips. The colour is extended out into circles from the corners. The Supracolor is then set and smudged over the lip line by applying a combination of Eye Shadow Matt in ‘SA131’ and ‘Aubergine’. The concentration of the darker colour, ‘SA131’, on the nose is on the outer edge. On the mouth, it is in the centre of the lips.
Nebula Vivid Airbrush in ‘Medium Green’ is sprayed around the hairline and along the contours framing the face. Supracolor in ‘101’ is mixed with Make-up Blend to achieve a fluid consistency. This is then flicked, concentrating on the areas where Nebula has been applied. Fresh Scratch in ‘Dark’ is pressed onto the lip before Supreme Blood External in ‘Dark’ is dripped down the chin.
