Hot off this week’s news – The British Beauty Council has been established by five respected industry advocates: Jane Boardman, Chairman; Millie Kendall MBE, CEO; Catherine Handcock, Development Director; Kate Shapland, Content Director; and Anna-Marie Solowij, who sits on the Advisory board alongside other industry changemakers including the CEO of British Fashion Council, Caroline Rush.  Gemma Bellman has also recently joined the Executive board as COO.  The aim of the BBC is to develop the reputation, innovation, and education of British beauty both domestically and globally.  In its first year, the BBC will commission a report into the size and impact of the beauty industry on the British economy, enabling progression in the future.  They will also focus on representing the specific needs and voices of the beauty industry – an industry that is worth nearly £18 billion.  A number of established beauty brands have already signed up, and recognise the importance of giving the British beauty industry the reputation it deserves.  Sign up to the British Beauty Council here.
