Hot off this week’s news: Free From Award winners Green People don’t just stick to skincare – their new Volumising Mascara (£16.50) and Mineral Powder Blush (£20) are here to deliver makeup suitable for sensitive skin. The mascara, which comes in either black or brown-black, uses natural cellulose micro spheres to boost volume and natural mineral pigments to create dramatic, long-lasting colour. It’s made with 98% natural ingredients, including Vitamin E and precious plant oils to nourish the lash root and help the lashes to stay healthy. Certified organic with EcoCert, the mascara is suitable for sensitive skin and those prone to acne, eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea. The blush, which comes in the shade rose and is suitable for skin for a pink or olive undertone, is mica-based and talc-free, and can be layered to take you from a subtle finish to an intense glow. Skin is protected against UVA and UVB rays, and is energised with natural Vitamin E, antioxidants, and Omega-6 essential fatty acids. Available from Ocado, Waitrose, and greenpeople.co.uk.
Primark’s own-brand cosmetics range, PS… has been awarded the Leaping Bunny Certification on the whole range of their products, including skincare, makeup, and haircare. The Leaping Bunny certification is the most trusted cruelty free accreditation, and enables consumers to easily identify and buy products that are not tested on animals. Michelle Thew, CEO of Cruelty Free International, says she is “delighted to award the Leaping Bunny certification to the PS… cosmetic range”, and congratulates Primark for “demonstrating [that] it’s possible to bring high quality cosmetic products to the high street without inflicting suffering on animals”. The logo will appear on products over the coming months.

Skincare for your hair? That’s what Steven Schapera and Defaf Alamri, the power duo behind London Labs, are suggesting – and they have the products to go with the theory. The innovative range focuses on the effects of the prickly pear fruit oil that pervades the products – grown exclusively for London Labs in South Africa, it’s a potent serum that nourishes and replenishes the hair due to its high concentration of linoleic acid, which most closely resembles the fatty acids of skin. One option is to choose the pure Prickly Pear Oil (£70), which contains the oil of more than 30kg of prickly pear fruit. The non-greasy cold-pressed oil is packed with proteins and a plethora of nutrients, antioxidants, and beautifying minerals including a high natural concentration of Vitamin E, whose anti-ageing properties work to deeply replenish, reduce inflammation, and protect from external aggressors. Because it’s designed with skincare in mind, you can use it anywhere on your body to moisturise, protect, and repair. The effects are impressive: the oil turns hair glossy, and tames frizz and flyaways for a smooth finish, whilst simultaneously renewing and protecting the scalp. If oils aren’t your thing, try their Exfoliator and Scalp Mask Duo (£26), which resurface and nourish the scalp in order to let hair grow well. If it’s moisture you’re after, look no further than the hyaluronic acid-infused Hair Moisturiser (£32), which replenishes the hair with the help of the Prickly Pear Oil that London Labs are so proud of. And for days when washing isn’t an option? Opt for Dry Wash (£23), a dry shampoo which neutralises greasy roots, but can work just as well with freshly washed hair too, adding texture and volume. So, skincare for your hair? We’re sold.
Laura Geller are launching their new Filter First Foundation and Filter First Concealer. The foundation is medium to full coverage with a soft, luminous finish. The formula contains finely crushed pearls which act like filters to diffuse light, blur imperfections, and make your skin look flawless. The foundation feels weightless and comfortable on your skin, but rest assured that marks and blemishes remain covered, while the antioxidant rich formula promotes healthier looking skin. The concealer uses the same crushed pearl technique to diffuse light, whilst it also brightens the eye area and improves the appearance of dark circles. It is medium coverage, and is perfect for concealing, correcting, illuminating, and contouring.
