The countdown to the most wonderful time of the year has begun with the annual drop of Christmas collections from brands.  If you’ve been a good artist this year there’s no better way to reward yourself than to snap up some of these limited edition products and collections.

Starting with the latest brand to get the beauty world buzzing, Rihanna’s colour-inclusive Fenty Beauty have quickly followed up their initial product offering with a colourful holiday collection.  The Galaxy Collection is set apart from the original collection with rainbow hued packaging, delving into colour with her first real foray into lip and eye products after the base-heavy introductory products.  Available now, exclusive to Harvey Nichols.

For an on-point collection which will be well loved all year round, Bobbi Brown have nailed it this year.  From the Bobbi to Glow Highlighting Trio to the perfectly proportioned Satin & Caviar Shadow and Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner Palette, the brand have sought to offer customers fuss-free pairings of some of their most loved products.  Sometimes keeping it simple is the most effective.

Small, sweet yet exquisitely luxurious, Guerlain’s holiday collection comprises of the usual collectors’ editions of classic products, paired with the stunning Gold Palette inspired by Art Deco designs.  With powders for face and eyes, this will be the one to snatch up when the collection becomes available at the end of October.  Elsewhere you have the ever-lovely Gold Pearl MeteoritesTerracotta Gold Light, two new shades of their Rouge G lipsticks and a pretty Gold Light mascara topcoat.

Continuing with their trend of partnering with iconic artists for special collections, the NARS X Man Ray collection will surely have artists’ hearts fluttering this winter.  Taking inspiration from Ray’s photographs, the best word to describe these shades would be ‘smouldering’; there’s no absence of colour, but every shade has an edged element to it and we can imagine some truly stunning smokey eyes coming from these colour pairings.  The Love Game palette contains 12 brand new shades and is a real winner in our eyes.

Newness for both lips and eyes from Armani, with six new shades of their much lauded Lip Magnets (we expect 603 Adrenaline, a deep burgundy with a touch of berry, to be a stand-out) and a supersize update to their two-layer palettes.  With ten shadows, mostly smokey shades with a pop of gold, navy and aubergine to spice things up, the second layer contains two shades of Maestro Fusion and Luminous Silk Compact – a handy combination for on-the-go touch ups.

Too Faced always create beautifully packaged Christmas gifts and sets.  This year is slightly more restrained than usual, but we imagine that’s due to the hype around the brand new full size palette which is dropping with it.  The Too Faced White Chocolate Bar palette is the latest iteration of their popular confectionery palettes and is, interestingly, leaning away from the warm shades which have been saturating the market this year.  Pastel-tinged and cooler toned, this palette won’t be for everyone but it’s refreshing to see a brand stepping out and doing something a bit different.  The rest of the sets are lovely as always – the Best Year Ever Makeup Collection and Planners are actually great value for money with their great powder formulas.

Last but never least, MAC always go all-out for Christmas and this year is no exception.  Their Snowball collection for 2017 is their most classic Christmassy fare for years, and we love it.  Shimmer is most definitely in, from their new shimmer-strewn lipsticks to their glitter-banded eyelashes.  The snowflake embossed highlighters are bound to disappear in minutes, and we also have our eyes on the slim, perfectly formed eyeshadow palettes.  Like any MAC collection, it’s best to plan ahead and be ready to move fast when the collection finally drops.

There’s plenty more still to be announced, with most collections launching this month and early November.  Keep an eye on Hot Off The Press for all of the latest news and releases.
