Warpaint is coming back to the Emerald Isle on Monday 25th September with the Warpaint Championship at Professional Beauty Ireland. With five categories for you to choose from, compete and show off your skills with some of the best artists in the country. With levels for both students and professionals, put your skills in the spotlight at Professional Beauty Ireland taking place at RDS Dublin. Deadline for entry is 21st September, here is all the information you need to enter.
Bodypainting – Theme: The Manchu Dragon
Six hours will be allowed for Pros and four hours for Students – 08:30 – 15:00 – with a compulsory 30 minute break
This category takes a peek into one of the most colourful and symbolic periods in Chinese history: The Manchu Dragon. The judges will be looking for exception work, with either a brush, sponge or airbrush in combination with costume, headpiece and use of props. There are different requirements for students and professionals so please check the relevant competition pack.
Film & TV: The French Revolution:
Two hours will be allowed for this category – 10:30 – 12:30
The French Revolution is arguably one of the most important events in human history and the start of modern history. You will design and make-up a character who lived during this time, from 1789 to 1799, male or female and with a suitable costume sourced. In this period, every French citizen was affected by the Revolution, whether they were rich or poor, so do your research well.
Real Beauty: Winter Bride
Two hours will be allowed for this category – 10:30 – 13:00
Be inspired by the beauty of the winter season with the snowflakes and morning frost. This category is about creating a look for real women and you’ll will be judged on your ability to bring out the subject’s features as well as application and technique in a daytime and evening look.
Runway: 20th Century Fashion Designers
Two hours will be allowed for this category – 10:30 – 12:30
Take your inspiration from some of the iconic fashion designers from the 20th century. From Coco Chanel to Alexander McQueen, capture the essence of their work through make-up, hair, nails and styling. As with all catwalk work, your look must be picture perfect from up close.
InstaWarpaint: Ancient Egypt
The Warpaint Championships allows you to showcase your own original images. Be inspired by the wonders and beauty of Ancient Egypt to create imaginative cover-worthy shots. You will be judged on your photo composition, model choice as well as originality, use of colour and interpretation of the theme.
All of the categories are available for both students and professionals and all competitors will receive a certificate to confirm participation.
