April 6th, 2017
On 29th and 30th April we’ll be welcoming the return of the United Make-up Artist Expo here in London. Now in its fifth year, the show has cultivated a reputation for being the friendliest show going – a place to meet and share knowledge, to be inquisitive and learn more about genres of make-up which you might be curious about. The Warpaint team will see you there.
Covering Film, TV, Theatre, Beauty, Editorial and even Medical make-up, UMAExpo promises to build on its legacy of providing attendees with access to some of the best artists in the business. Located at the Novotel London West in Hammersmith, the main show floor is packed with much-loved artists, brands and businesses. Downstairs are four seminar rooms, regularly featuring artists in intimate settings for Q&A sessions and demonstrations.

Stock up your kit with the benefit of substantial discounts – up to 40%, we hear on the grapevine – from brands including Make Up For Ever, NYX, PPI, PS Composites, PAM, The Makeup Armoury, Makeup Designory, Tina Earnshaw Brushes, Nanshy, Back Stage Shop, Airbase and Titanic FX Store. You can find the floorplan here to start planning your route around the show for the best deals.
The full line-up of guest artists and speakers is to be announced soon (we’ve had a sneak-peek and there’s some exciting names to come!), but expect leading artists including our very own Tina Earnshaw, Joey Bevan, Richard Redlefsen and double-Oscar nominees Love Larson and Eva von Bahr.
One appearance we can’t wait for is that of top comedian and impressionist Jon Culshaw. Bringing a slice of American Pie to the show, Jon will be performing his hilarious Donald Trump impression with the help of the talented hands at PAM, who will be using make-up and wigs to complete the transformation. With a faux-press conference planned, we can’t wait to see what shenanigans go on. Here’s a taster of Jon’s performance:
Welcoming the curious, whether they be knowledgeable or inexperienced, UMAExpo prides itself on its open, informal atmosphere. Whether you’re looking to learn about Medical make-up and camouflage, Wigs, Theatre make-up or college courses, the wide variety of exhibitors will cater for every curiosity.
Paintopia are also making a big presence for their debut appearance at the show. Expect live bodypaints by Angela Youngs, Brierley Thorpe and Glittertastics Bodyart, as well as Paintopia founder & Warpaint Championships judge Jennie Roberts on hand with her Paintopia shop for all of your bodypainting needs. The lovely ladies of Online Alley will also be making a return, live-streaming the creation of their stunning designs over the weekend.
To help students and artists, UMAExpo are offering a Loyalty Card for the first time, which brings the cost of a weekend ticket down to just £10. For more information, click here. Day tickets and weekend tickets are also available here. See you there!
