2017 is the Chinese Year of the Rooster and the celebrate this most important of Eastern festivals MAC Cosmetics has created the beautifully bold Chinese New Year Collection. Taking some of its cult products from the permanent range and dressing them in signature red Eastern-inspired packaging will have you shouting Kung Hei Fat Choy. The collection includes 3 uber red lipsticks: Peach Blossom – frosted cool nude (Cremesheen); Dangerous – orangey-red matte (Retro Matte) and Russian Red – intense bluish-red (Matte). Also in the Rooster collection are nine eyeshadows ranging from soft beige, ivory, grey, pink and lilac tones as well as MACs two top selling brow pencils, Lingering a soft taupe-brown and Brunette, an ash brown. Also in the collection a black liquid liner, powder blush in Fleur Power and Dame as well as Prep + Prime Natural Radiance, a gel lotion that fights redness, evens skintone and boosts radiance. MAC has also announced the launch of Scrubtious, a new sugar-based exfoliator for lips that gently buffs away dry and flaky skin, available from 23 February. The formula of the MAC Scrubtious lip exfoliators has been enhanced by hydrating and nourishing conditioners to leave lips soft. The MAC Scrubtious lip exfoliators are available in the following scents: Sweet Vanilla, Candied Nectar, Fruit of Passion, Summer Berry and Sweet Brown Sugar (£12.50).
Givenchy Rouge Interdit, a new lipstick collection in 24 high-impact colours (£25 each) goes on sale this week. Offering a satin finish, comfort and long-hold, they are formulated with black rose oil, micro-oils and micronised pigments. The key shade in the Givenchy Rouge Interdit palette is Rouge Révélateur, a concentrated marbled grape that combines Rouge Interdit shade no.12 and Noir Révélateur in equal parts. There’s also the new Givenchy Lip Liners, which are available in a diverse colour palette, from reds, deep browns and beiges to pinks. The 10 Lip Liners (£18), are specially designed to suit all shades of Givenchy Le Rouge and Rouge Interdit lipsticks.
Smashbox has a new Photo Finish Foundation Primer Radiance with Hyaluronic Acid (£30). The primer blurs pores, fine lines and imperfections while evening skin tone and prepping skin for make-up application. The primer is formulated with ultrafine amber and bronze pearls, along with 4K ceramic microspheres and the formula’s peach-tone shade.
jane iredale has announced the launch of the first phase of its Well & Good Spring Collection. Phase one of the collection, available from 1 March, comprises: PurePressed Eye Shadow Triple (£28) in Soft Kiss (matte, warm mauve) and Pink Quartz (matte light pink); and Bronzer Refill (£29.95) in Peaches & Cream (four warm, peachy pink hues with subtle shimmer).
