Ellis Faas 1

Ellis Faas the cutting edge Dutch artist who is a firm favourite in the Warpaint office has created a beautiful Autumn visual that focuses on the lips. The dewy glossed look was created using Hot Lips L408 as the stain with Glazed Lips L308 over it, just so pretty!

Bourjois smoky palette (1) Bourjois sculpt highlight

Bourjois has got into the Christmas spirit with their Paris Grand Chic Collection. The New York stylist Bernadette Pascua gives the Christmas palette (£11.99) a festive touch with her signature illustrations of grace and femininity. The palette boasts eight multi-effect shades: subtly, pearly or sparkly. The intuitive textures can be easily worked, gradually building intensity with up to 12-hour hold. The Strobing Highlighter (£10.99) is the perfect for illuminating the complexion and visually sculpt facial contours, Sculpt Light Strobing Highlighter mimics where the light would naturally hit the face to give a glowing finish. A light, fluid gel formula enriched with subtle light-reflecting pearlescent pigments. This non-greasy highlighter comes in a universal shade that adapts beautifully to all skin tones. The Volume Reveal Mascara (£9.99) is now available with the new, Ultra Black formula including intense black pigments and the Liner Feutre Slim Ultra Black (£6.99) is Ultra Black Slim felt-tip eyeliner, which is a saturated black formula and fine, high-precision felt tip, the precise, graphic line becomes ultra black and ultra professional for up to 24 hour hold. The Brow Duo Sculpt (£6.99) is a pencil and highlighter, defines, shapes and highlights the eyes. Finally the ever-popular Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick (£8.99) has opted for a trendy fuchsia seen at the winter runway shows: a pink with subtly exotic, passionate accents to complete the Christmas look.

The classic French beauty house Sothys has launched their A/W16 make-up Collection. The Mix Solution Powder Transformer (£9.50) is infused with blueberry extract, and transforms the texture of powder, foundation or eyeshadow in an instant. Creating a radiant and luminous finish for a natural glowing complexion in the Winter months or intensify the colour of eyeshadows for a bold, smokey look.  The Brow Enhancer Pencil (£14.50) has been created with a combination of waxes to define the natural shape of the eyebrows and polymers to set them in place. The Lip Duo’s Colour Lip Pencil & Contour lip Pencil (£21.00) will contour and colour and the Ombre Sothys Eye Quartet Palette (£29.50) contains four new complementary shades with a fine, creamy texture that have both matte and iridescent finishes. These can be used along with the Mix Solution to build coverage and intensity across the eyes. The Radiance Blush (£22.00) in Burnt Sienna restores radiance and creates a lustrous summer glow during the colder season.

The world of make-up artistry will be welcomed to Düsseldorf on 1st and 2nd April 2017. The make-up artist design show (MADS) has become a firm fixture as a creative meeting point for make-up artists from all areas of the industry. Thanks to its strict trade visitor registration procedures professionals. The stars of the make-up world will be up close and personal, sharing with the audience their work in film, TV and theatre at the Lecture Forum. Famous make-up artists will be showing off their skills and giving valuable tips in practical demonstrations. Previous guests included Oscar winners like Mark Coulier, Michael Westmore and Michele Burke. Once again in 2017 big name make-up artists will delight the audience with their spectacular artistry. Confirming their attendance are Tate Steinsiek from the US, Shaune Harrison from Great Britain, Michael Loncin from Belgium as well as Birgit Mörtl from Vienna and Denis Penkov from Berlin. The Creative Workshops invite visitors to familiarise themselves with and try out materials and new techniques. Materials and techniques can be tried out direct in daily workshops under expert guidance. The programme includes designing and making SFX figures, creating and making up silicon parts, skin and hair airbrushing and mask design using foil/film technology. 75 exhibitors and brands means visitors will find everything they need for professional make-up, special effects and sculptural techniques along with materials for making masks, wigs and hairpieces. Special tools and accessories round off the range. Talented trainees will come to Düsseldorf to pitch their skills against one another. This year participants in the German Championships for Trainee Make-Up Artists have been asked to create an effective mask focused on the “Kingdom of Fairy Tales” theme.  At the “Golden Mask” prize ceremony one national and one international prize-winner will be honoured. MADS Düsseldorf offers an on-site crèche, (for children aged 4 and above), the cloakroom and left luggage facilities as well as public transport within the local VRR network (with a valid admission ticket, in the greater Düsseldorf area). Ticket bought online cost € 35 (day ticket) and € 50 (two-day ticket) while ticket prices on the day are € 5 higher. Admission to the parallel BEAUTY DÜSSELDORF is included.
