Airbase has added two brand new mascaras to their ranks with the Lash Extend Mascara and the Long Wear Mascara (£22 and £20 respectively). Both mascaras have a five-groove star brush which dispenses more product than a traditional brush, lashes the star of the show. The Lash Extend is the perfect mascara for daily wear, and contains growth-enhancing super-serum Capixyl. With a flake-resistant, smudge-proof and tear-proof formula, the Long Wear mascara lives up to its name and will stay in place until you take it off. The volumising formula thickens, curls and separates lashes for the ultimate show-stopping lashes.

Cosmetic brand M2 Beauté is launching their Black Nano Mascara exclusively at Harrods in mid-November. With three brushes for individual lash styling, this next generation mascara allows the user to create natural, precision and volume lashes with one innovative product. Simply Natural is the straight all-rounder brush with thick dense bristles for a natural, fresh subtle look; Pretty Precision gives a defined look, with an asymmetric precision brush separating lashes effectively and giving extra curl; Very Volume has a bulky spider brush to give jet black lashes with maximum volume for a dramatic look.
The Mascara incorporates a ‘Nanotechnological’ process to ensure the best possible absorption of the active care ingredients and guarantees ultrafine pigment concentration. Complementing the high-tech design are ingredients including cranberry, gota kola extract and licorice root extract to nourish and build stronger, healthier lashes.
October sees the launch of the Bobbi Brown Extra Repair Nourishing Milk (£54). Soft as cashmere and beautifully lightweight, this milk contains the moisture of a facial oil and the skin-renewing benefits of a treatment. Over time it works to perfect a healthier complexion, but even used once we noticed the difference thanks to the blend of Olive, Sesame, Sweet Almond and Jojoba oils.
We’re sad to share the news that Paintopia will not be returning in 2017. Co-Founder Jennie Roberts shared the news to us in a statement:
We regret to inform you that there will be no Paintopia Festival during 2017. After a lot of deliberating here at HQ we have decided that after 5 intense years of running the event, which takes pretty much the entire year to plan, we are going to have at least one years break.
Demand on the festival has become huge and with more and more students/public wanting to attend too which is fantastic we just feel we need some time away from actually running it to look at how we can restructure and accommodate it to keep up with demand and it’s ever growing popularity.
However, do not worry too much about getting the festival blues because we are getting inundated with enquiries surrounding bodypainting and we have several exciting events that we will be involved with during 2017/2018 and there will be opportunities to get involved with us for those if you wish to. We will also be at lots of events and jams with our bodypaint supplies shop so you’ll still have plenty of involvement with us.
Apologies as we know that this will be disappointing news for lots of you. Please rest assured that this isn’t a decision we have made lightly and it has taken us here some considerable time to actually settle upon it being the right thing for the event & us organisers right now. Paintopia 2016 was probably the best festival we have held yet in terms of atmosphere and we are incredibly proud of every single person who has been involved with the event in any or all of the years so far. The standard of bodypainting that is produced at the event is on a level with the WBF and we never in our wildest dreams would have imagined such an incredible amount of talent being showcased when we set up way back in 2012.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you so much for everything that you have contributed to it and we look forward to welcoming you all back to what we know will be a fantastic festival once again in the not too distant future once the grass has regrown a bit and is ready for stomping on again!
Many thanks for all your support.
